Slowlife Lodge

Slowlife lodge was amazing. Staff was very welcoming - hanging out in the common room before and after skiing with Chad, the staff and other guests made the trip. Chad would mix cocktails and we’d play games in the afternoon, then he’d take those interested on excursions during the day (skiing, hot springs, etc depending on the weather). Also the location was great, only a couple min from Hirafu by car.

Only issue was our room was pretty small for a family of 4, but we didnt need to spend any time in it.

Chad et son équipe ont été exceptionnels. Ils sont fait sentir comme si nous étions à la maison. J'ai commis une erreur (100% ma faute) lors de la réservation, et Chad nous a accommodé malgré cette erreur. Les déjeuners étaient copieux et nourrissants. L'ambiance conviviale. Je recommande vivement.

Snowlife Lodge was incredible. Chad, the owner, was so hospitable; he made a mean omelette one of the days, served up a proper Aussie brekkie (bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, hash browns), and even let us shower and check out late after a full day on the slopes. He drove us to the bus stop too. Honestly, top-tier service and the perfect place to stay for skiing or snowboarding.

Izumikyo is very close, but getting back during heavy blizzards can be a bit of a pain due to visibility and conditions. That said, in normal snowy weather it’s actually very easy — the bus stop is only about a 3-minute walk away (out the front of the curry house). You can use the Niseko United shuttle for free with a lift pass, tap on with a credit card if you’re not skiing (around ¥200 each way), or take the free Niseko Shuttle (yellow/purple line). In regular conditions, transport is super convenient.
