It’s our third time in this villa. Wonderfully remote but still accessible to all you need. A great pool, all facilities you could want, good and reliable air con. The perfect villa for a family of 3 or 4. We had five in it and that was fine too - but it meant 3 kids sharing. I suspect we will return.

Just back from 2 weeks at Villa Semelle..Such a hidden gem! The standard was excellent.. clean, comfortable, well equipped. The pool is fantastic. The terrace a great asset. And the views are stunning.. especially at sunset. The perfect villa for a getaway and relax type holiday.. but also a great base to explore the island.Thank you to the wonderful Katarina for keeping the villa so clean, providing so many suggestions for beaches andctavernas and for a lovely evening drinking her wine. Of particular note.. the butchers and meat taverna in Nerotrivia, the baker (Katerina) in Politika, the taverna in Vlachia and the taverna and beach at Dafni (better weekdays). We also had a memorable time wandering around the promenade and town of Kalkida and can recommend the Souk restaurant.Altogether a magical stay in a very soecisl villa.

The perfect setting for slowing down and contemplating the view, every bit as perfect as the photos suggest. If you see solitude and privacy as benefits worth a bit of isolation, the Stone Cottage fits the bill. The nature pond above the swimming pool (abuzz with dragonflies) and the lavender beds alongside the frontage (abuzz with bees) demonstrate a commitment to the wider environment

There were two of us, so we had lots of space - the cottage can easily accommodate four people. We wanted peace and quiet, and we certainly got it. The cottage is quite isolated - there are a few houses dotted around, but one is hardly aware of them. It is surrounded by open country, with glorious views of the mountains and the sea, with the mainland beyond. The landscape is enchanting, constantly changing with the weather and time of day.Internally the layout of the house is very simple and practical. The stone construction gives it a very safe and solid feel, and we appreciated the attention to detail in the fittings and furnishings. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bedrooms and living room all open out onto the terrace, which therefore becomes the focal point (in summer - perhaps in winter the open fireplace would serve this purpose). The terrace in turn overlooks the pool, which we used all the time because it was so convenient, although the delightful little beach is only a short way away. There is a lovely beach taverna with excellent fresh fish about 15 minutes' drive away. The owner visited to make sure we were comfortable, and he could not have done more to ensure we had everything we needed. There is a village with some basic shops and a very good taverna a short drive away; a few minutes further there is a bigger village with several grocers and other shops and a choice of restaurants.A great plus is that, despite being so remote and on an island, it is easy to get to from Athens airport. A car is essential both to get there and to get around. However we also enjoyed some pleasant walks, and there are opportunities for really long walks for the more energetic.A few random tips: there is no cash machine or filling station in the village, so best to arrive prepared.I would certainly go back again to this truly delightful place, and very strongly recommend it.
