The Granary Country Retreat

Welcoming host. Beautifully surroundings. Sirrounded by beautifull countryside. Well equiped studio. Feels vey private. Really could not ask for more. We will definitely come again.

Nothing. It was perfect.

The setting is superb to enjoy the expanse of the woodlands and countryside. Set deep and remote. A perfect retreat if you want to be away from it all without sacrificing creature comforts. It was most comfortable and cosy. Water from their own well, log burner with wood from their own 32 acres woodland, oil central heating. Everything was well catered for and we had a most enjoyable stay.

The only downside appeared to be all our own fault. Maybe we are used to the idea of pizzas or takeaway on-call, with corner shops you can nip down to for last moment bits. You will need to plan well ahead and bring back anything you wish to cook when you settle in. The nearest eateries (holiday convenience) or big grocers seem a modest 20 miles away on the map but the country lanes can be slow. There are supermarket home deliveries but we didn't stay long enough to learn the system. There really is nothing to dislike. It's a most enjoyable experience and the children loved the adventure.

Location is far away from most Points of Interest, but in a beautiful secluded area with amazing views

A small hut, beautifully and fashionably decorated - with a large outside space to explore and to enjoy nature. A very comfortable bed. The owners left very kind gifts and a beautiful note, with a phone number. But I couldn't phone because I had no signal. Very clean house.

The listing should better communicate that there was no wifi, and no phone signal. A welcome escape for many I'm sure, but as a female guest staying alone it was terrifying not having contact with the outside world, and not being able to use my phone to navigate to/from this secluded hut. I'd suggest an information folder for guests, and some shampoo/soap for shower too. Also, there was a coffee machine but no coffee pods. It was cold at times, and as mentioned - there was no information folder to explain how the boiler worked.
