Great stay thank you
The property was exceptional
The house was amazing all and everything you need for a stay
The heating heating wouldn’t work at first then we sorted that out but the fire in the living room was ok but we had to keep asking for wood ? Or perhaps we should have brought our own ? But once lit it fills the living room with smoke so doors have to be opened letting all the heat out 🤣 We loved the place it was fantastic the gate entrance is a little tight . Don’t try getting a Range Rover through it just won’t fit

This could be a brilliant property if the owners could sort out the damp issue, and give it some TLC
Although a very tight entrance to the drive and limited parking, the first impression was positive, then we walked inside !!!
The smell that hit you was a very musty and damp. The kitchen looked fine, however, the cupboards smelt awful and we had to wash everything we needed before we could use them. Crockery, cutlery. Glasses etc. the lounge, when we located it, again had that awful musty smell, windows needed cleaning, cobwebs everywhere and the sofas were old and uncomfortable. The information file, that we found here, was dirty and covered in mould, obviously hadn’t been used for some time.the bedroom on the ground floor smelt disgusting and seemed very damp.the defused and air freshener provided did not mask the odours. The bed felt damp and we couldn’t use the wardrobe or drawers because of the awful damp smell. In fact, we all lived out of our suitcases as the upstairs furniture was no better.the shower worked intermittently and the bottom control kept falling off. The floor was not clean, especially around the toilet, and I had an issue with small worm like creatures on the shower floor Ugh !! Upstairs one of the bedroom carpets seems to have been eaten by mites. The knobs on the bed frame kept falling off and the mattress didn’t fit the bed. Both bathrooms had similar issues regarding the workings and cleanliness. We didn’t risk using the jacuzzi bath.the courtyard lights didn’t work and the paving was uneven and needed repointing. Plants and shrubs very overgrown, so not a very pleasant place to sit out in. The website photos were misleading and didn’t mention that the lounge was actually upstairs. Previous reviews from 2023 and 2024 mentioned many of the issues we have raised and they have still not been addressed.
On the whole, this property was not worth the money we were charged and we would definitely NOT recommend it as it is.

Great location, but definitely needs some work doing to it to bring it up to standard.
Location
Cobwebs in all rooms, mold in bathrooms, smell of damp & damp duvet/ pillows in the ground floor bedroom - not bed linen & very moody en-suite!
Loose wires on inside lights, jacuzzi bath - rim around bath and the mechanics placed under bath with bare wires.
Upstairs bedroom - carpet mites as carpet has been eaten away I. Certain areas
Windows to this room opened upwards - definitely not FENSA installed and fit to regulations!
Overall, disappointed. Definitely will return to ulcerating, just not this property.
Unsure of photos to add (I’ve got a lot) of both the location or property problems!

Lovely country retreat.
Location was great, very close to centre of Ulverston and in the shadow of Hoad Hill which was lovely.
House was beautiful, very spacious and comfortable and lovely wee terraces to sit out on with beautiful gardens surrounding us.
Parking wasn't great. Very little space for us staying in the Stables and other visitors staying at the main house connected to ours. Lot of tight manoeuvring of cars in and out.
The bedroom located on the bottom floor smelled a bit musty, don't know if that was down to not having as much natural light and fresh air coming in as it was at back of house.

Great for a family weekend away but could use a good dusting
The size of the property and rooms was great 3 good size en suite bathrooms and bedrooms.
There was very little cooking essentials such as oil or salt and pepper (not a real issue and can be bought but would elevate the overall stay) Some broken pieces of furniture such as the bed ends on one of the upstairs bedrooms, the back of one of the dining chairs was loose, there was a loose slab on the raised terrace/dec outside the lounge. And there was loads of spiders webs and dust.

50th birthday stay with friends.
The view from the cottage was stunning. The scenery was very picturesque. Flowers and trees were gorgeous.
The cleanliness of the entire property needs addressing. All the rooms had numerous cobwebs and dust. A variety of insects could be found on the ceilings, floors and in cupboards. The insects were namely flies, spiders and woodlice. There appeared to be sellotape around the loft door in the bedroom that had the bath. I'm not sure why?? There was dirt around the base of the toilets in 2 of the rooms. There appeared to be bits of a soap bar in the downstairs bedroom in the large chest of drawers. The mattress in the bedroom with the bath was filthy- full of ominous- looking stains and the bedsheets were less than clean. The wardrobes had an assortment of clutter in them. The sofas in the lounge were extremely worn and dirty - looking. Huge cobwebs hanging from the wooden beams in the lounge and also huge spiders webs behind the log burner and in the corner of the balcony door near the tv. I could go on but think you get the gist.

Lovely, relaxing, comfortable stables with views across the bay.
A really nice stable conversion mixed with modern bedrooms and en-suites. I saw the review score and the top-line reviews before booking. I later saw some negative reviews which gave me a bit of trepidation, but these proved unfounded once we got to the property.
Ideally, there would have been an enclosed garden - but not a deal breaker. Also, just mind your head on the stairs coming down.

Great for trail walks for location
Showers were great, location was prefect to walk into the small town, nothing to dislike , the drive way was a little tight to get in but we managed it

Met our needs perfectly.
We loved that we could just stay in all day and relax if we wanted to. All the rooms were very comfy.
There was no radiator in the largest bathroom so it was very cold and the radiator in that bedroom wasn't large enough to for the room.

Needs updating!
The location is great, the view from the garden is lovely to look out over on. The beds were very comfortable to sleep on. Kitchen had a lot of plates and cups etc.
Disappointed with a few things really:
Cobwebs in shower
Broke bits in the kitchen
Microwave from front stuck on with Blu tac
Didn’t say anywhere on the spec that the living room is on the 1st floor, my elderly mum really struggled with the stairs, we booked this property as it had a down stairs bedroom for ease.
The Downstairs bedroom stank…. It was very musky and smelt like damp.
No robes in the bedrooms as shown on pictures
Quilt on king size bed was not king size

Very oldy worldy annex. We loved that. The furniture, bedrooms. Location. Free wood for log burner. Kitchen was good
Bathroom was a little cold as had no heating in it.

Great place to stay, beautiful and unique house and gardens.
The garden and house were wonderful, great accommodation for us all. Lovely welcome from the housekeeper. We stayed in the main house for a third night and it was lovely too x

Overall we enjoyed our stay, for those wishing to venture further into the lakes it’s a great location, peace and quiet
Great location on the edge of town, only 10 mins walk to local bars and eateries, although some may find the location rather hilly it was ok for us. Free on site parking within the spacious walled garden is a good bonus. Rooms are a good size, each with its own en-suite shower/bathroom.
Generally finished to a high standard we felt it could do with some TLC, ie loose door knobs on main bedroom wardrobe, some curtain poles and blinds need attention/ refixing, couple of light bulbs need replacing in lounge area, grill element on cooker needs replacing. Nothing major but need some attention.

Family get away.
Lovely bathrooms and good sized bedrooms. Good space for longer week stays or weekend.
Very comfortable base for the lakes.
The living room was not as clean as other rooms. Lots of cobwebs throughout the house. Just spoiled the cleanliness a bit.

Great for relaxing, walking and getting away from it all!
Fabulous location. Beds very comfy. Spacious living room. Loved all the books and feeling of escaping from the everyday stresses.
Little niggles.Outside a bit uncared for with dead potted olive tree on balcony and brambles over steps. Instructions needed for use of shower in one room as seemed to run cold only. No dry tea towels.

One of the bedrooms (downstairs) had a very musty smell and obviously had damp issues as there was a dehumidifier in the room. Not sure it should have been available for guests. Needs sorting.

Comfortable and enjoyed all evenings and mornings.
Location is fantastic easy approach as it said on the tin the gate entrance was bit tight but managed my SUV no problem at all. The furniture inside and outside very carefully picked and designed for full home comfort standards. Can not complain at all.
The only thing I shall moan about is if all the 3 bathrooms are being used the shower starves for water to the extent that there's no water flowing from shower head, so you have to wait with shampoo and soap on you for someone to finish to start water flow again or plan using your bathrooms.
