Watch (Mind) your step and duck

Not much. It was clean. The view from the garden over the valley is nice. It is in a medieval hamlet under the fortress. Parking was inside a garage; however, exiting the garage in reverse is a challenge with many back-and-forth movements. Our small car barely fit between the gate posts.

The doorway/entry is dangerous. We both tripped numerous times over the inside step. The door barely clears a curved opening made just for the door's swing and one must step up (~25cm) to enter; or from the inside, one must open the door, then backup the step to get out. Very unsafe design. The place is almost impossible to find and many streets are barely wide enough for even a small car. Most streets are medieval narrow passages at oblique angles to each other. It's a warren of twisting passageways. The host's instructions were baffling. Our host was not present and her mother (who was) could not communicate with us. We had to use texts with the host. The rooms, such as they are, were seemingly fabricated from an old storage shed built along a wall in a former garden. Space is cramped to say the least. Ceilings were very low. Room heaters had no instructions and texts from host were not helpful. Bed was a thin mattress with a minimal duvet cover. No electrical outlets. No wifi. No heat. We left after one miserable cold night and moved into a hotel in Puy-en-Valay. I am 'Genius-level' and have stayed in many, many other places with Booking. This place is a safety disaster that someone from Booking needs to visit. I do not recommend it to anyone.

Exceptional

This is a wonderful property in an excellent location. The village is beautiful and the castle is well worth a visit. The accommodation is very comfortable and well-equipped. It is good value since it is cheaper than many hotel rooms yet had full self-catering facilities. The hosts were welcoming and took us personally to the property. There are lovely views from outside the accommodation and outdoor seating is available for appreciating this view.

Amazing location, the area is lovely, the village beautiful. The flat is small but we had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful and accommodating -the place was comfortable for us and for my 92 year old granny. I'd definitely recommend staying there

Beautiful and peaceful once you get there. Hostess is sweet!

This bnb has a beautiful view over the countryside. It was delightful to have our regional wine and cheese outside watching the sun set. In that way, the location can't be beat. The place was clean and comfortable. Our hostess had trouble understanding our fumbling French but brought her daughter to help translate. It was great to have a washing machine (once we got it hooked up and figured out) for our use and the kitchen w/ fridge was very handy. We were able to park under a garage - a rarity!

Certainly part of the charm of this village is how it is built into the side of the mountain, but that also made the approach challenging, with narrow, sharply-turning gravel roads to navigate. Our hostess kindly offered to meet us at the local church and guide us, but we weren't even sure where that might be, so we followed our Garmin's instructions and eventually got there. This place doesn't include breakfast and so we did some shopping, but we'd been spoiled at other overnights that did have shampoo, hand-cloths, and coffee and tea in the cupboard. Little things mean a lot when you're a weary traveler. Just those little extras plus having instructions on how the washing machine worked would have been useful and bumped up our score, in spite of the tricky location. When we left, I left coffee and laundry detergent behind for the next folks.

Très beau séjour à la maison d'Orée à Polignac

Tout est très bien ! Joli petit logement très bien équipé : très bonne literie et ustensiles de cuisine au grand complet. La situation du logement est vraiment très chouette 😀, beaux paysages, plein de balades à pied dans le village, la citadelle.... N'hésitez pas à aller à Polignac à la maison d'Orée !

Emplacement exceptionnel dans ce superbe village de Polignac. Puy en Velay est à 15 min à peine, la situation est idéale. Le logement est charmant et bien équipé, avec une terrasse donnant sur la campagne environnante, vraiment agréable. Nous avons adoré je recommande vivement.

Estancia agradable en un entorno encantador

El alojamiento está decorado con mucho gusto, en armonía con el precioso paisaje del pueblo, y el espacio es cómodo y suficientemente amplio para dos personas. La cama es confortable y la limpieza general fue buena. La anfitriona fue muy amable y flexible, algo que agradecemos mucho.

Algunos detalles de limpieza a mejorar como una pequeña telaraña y suciedad en la alcachofa de la ducha, que deslucen un poco la impresión inicial. Echamos en falta algunas comodidades básicas como una escoba y fregona para mantener el espacio durante la estancia, así como una segunda toalla por persona. Además, aunque el clima durante nuestro viaje fue agradable, el ventilador pequeño puede quedarse corto en épocas de más calor, ya que no hay aire acondicionado.

Petit bémol - nous sommes venus à 5 dont 3 enfants pour un mariage au Puy en Velay (environ 650 kms des Landes) pour une célébration à 16h et malgré notre demande de venir vers 14h-14h30 pour pouvoir nous préparer, notre demande n'a pas été accepté (remise des clés entre 17h et 23h).

Nous recherchions un logement tranquille pour flemmarder le lendemain de réveillon. L'endroit très calme s'y prête très bien. Une mention pour les petites ouvertures stylisées face à l'est dans le mur de la chambre donnant un éclairage rayonnant le matin, digne de la chapelle Matisse.

Cet appartement n’est pas adapté à des personnes de plus de 1m75 (toilettes, lit) mon copain a du dormir sur le canapé et j’ai dormi sur le lit enfant car le matelas du grand lit est dur mais j’ai le dos sensible j’ai eu mal au dos la nuit malheureusement Peut être pourriez vous enlever le rebord du bas du lit pour que des plus grandes personnes puissent y dormir et revoir le matelas si possible !

Wunderschöner Wohlfühlurlaub in traumhafter Landschaft mit guter Erholung !

Die Vermieterin hat uns an der Kirche abgeholt und ist mit ihrem Auto voraus zur Unterkunft gefahren. Sie war sehr freundlich und hat uns mit vielen interessanten Informationen versorgt z. B. Wanderrouten, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Spezialitäten der Region etc. Das Ferienhaus war sehr gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus hat eine für uns sehr gute Lage - ruhig, aber nur 5 km von Le Puy entfernt. Wir haben sehr gerne und oft auf der Terrasse gesessen und den Ausblick genossen. Es hat uns alles insgesamt sehr gut gefallen und wir können uns sehr gut vorstellen noch einmal Urlaub in dieser Unterkunft zu machen.

Da wir viel gewandert sind und nicht täglich in den Supermarkt zum Einkaufen fahren wollten, wäre es schön gewesen, wenn der Kühlschrank über ein besseres Gefrierfach verfügt hätte, um Tiefkühlprodukte ein paar Tage lagen zu können.
