Delightfully Restored Stone House with own swimming pool

Arriving at this wonderful spot in the middle of the unspoiled countryside and the warm welcome by Jacky and Francis was the start of a magnificent week at Le Scourbet. The preparations for our stay, the comfort as well as the cozy interior so tastefully decorated with many personal touches made us happy. Everything you wish for is available and you really lack nothing at all. Outside the lovely shady terrace with the large dining table, cosy seats everywhere overlooking the well maintained garden, the awesome pool with excellent sun loungers, the fields and the woods, and moreover the silence, it really gave us this "wish to stay forever" feeling. We spent more time outside than inside and enjoyed the several visits of the small deer and even once at sunset we spotted the wild boar family in the upper meadow. Indeed we were sorry to leave Le Scourbet, this true paradise on earth. Had a peaceful and very enjoyable stay. The house has everything for a comfortable holiday, and the pool and grounds are lovely. The hosts were spot on with their communication and welcome (wine, fruit jam and cake very much enjoyed). Local wildlife, deer, birds of prey etc. all paid a visit, nice to see.

Our family of four, with two teenage girls (14 and 12) had a fabulous week at Le Scourbet in late August. We fell in love with the place the minute we arrived. We live in a quiet rural location in South Wales with no immediate neighbours and on a quiet lane, so we prefer an equally peaceful and relaxing location for holiday. Le Scourbet was perfect for us. On a busy day there might be one car quietly passing every hour or two. The garden is private and not overlooked (unless you count the cows in a neighbouring field). The pool is clean. The house has everything you might need and Francis and Jacky are perfect hosts, charming and very helpful. If aircon and luxury décor are important to you then other places might suit you better, but if you want a quiet retreat, oozing with authenticity, charm and character you won’t be disappointed.
