Welcome to Zen Resort, where the rainforest meets the beach on beautiful Playa Chiquita! The Zen Resort is just a 200 meter walk from the ocean and right in the heart of Playa Chiquita. There are restaurants just steps from the property so there is no need to drive. This exotic tropical villa is located in lush, enclosed gardens next to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Our location is perfect for guests who love the beach and want the complete convenience of restaurants and a great grocery store just steps away. The Zen Resort is custom made and professionally decorated. The large house, Zen Villa, has sliding French doors in the living room and bedrooms that open to a covered patio that brings in the tropics. There is a covered outdoor living room giving you the option of lounging or dining alfresco. Monkeys, sloths, toucans and parrots are frequent visitors to the gardens. There is a beautiful open-air Bali style bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom and a separate full bathroom and second shower. The master bedroom has a king bed and sliding doors that open to the pool area. The second and third bedrooms have queen beds and share a huge bathroom with shower. All bedrooms have air conditioning units for a restful sleep. If you are looking for a luxury house for rent in Costa Rica that is private, beautiful and luxurious, the Zen house is the right choice for you. Zen Resort has two additional villas that have their own infinity pool, kitchen and a huge luxury bathroom. Each villa (Bodhi and Nirvana) has 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a loft in one of the rooms.

Just a short walk from the most beautiful virgin beach, this place is amazing. Huge main house that is gorgeous, large property, super well maintained and clean. Hosts are super responsive and concierge service catered to all our requests. We even had a baby sloth visit us!!

We had a wonderful tome and the house was great we only had a few minor hiccups with the ac in one bedroom and the safe not opening but Emma was all over it and quick to respond and have the issues resolved. Their concierge service was also wonderful. We were there for my wife’s 50th bday and they decorated the main house prior to our arrival. Everything about this place was great there were monkeys and sloths right on the property. Would definitely return here

Zen Villa and the Bodhi and Nirvana houses were lovely. The grounds were lush, tropical and well maintained. Overall the property was absolutely beautiful. However, the bedding in the Nirvana and Bodhi houses need attention.
We could hear howler monkeys, birds and even saw a sloth in the property, very cool. Emma was responsible and a pleasure to deal with. The house was cleaned by the property management 3 times during our stay which was a plus. The beach was a short walk away and absolutely beautiful, shaded and inviting. We stayed for two weeks during Christmas and New Years. We had five adults and five kids.
While the location of the property was convenient for walking to restaurants and the grocery store across the street, it was also very much in the middle of a lot of activity and bustle. We happened to be there the weeks between Christmas and New Year’s and the fireworks in the surrounding area were going off day and night throughout the entire week. The “bombetas”(mini bombs), a type of firework, were so loud that they would absolutely startle us each time they went off, the children were frightened and had trouble sleeping. Unfortunately due to the fireworks there was nothing tranquil or Zen about our stay. There was absolutely nothing that we could do about the surrounding noises. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay, during the holidays keep this in mind. Otherwise, the property and pools were dreamy

This trip was a year in the planning. We had 14 people and rented Zen, Bodhi and Nirvana - the entire compound. Management - Paola, Elena and Emma - were quick to answer questions and concerns leading up to this trip. And once we were there Emma and Elena were always a quick whatsApp text away.
Zen was an excellent base camp for our group. There were a handful of restaurants in walking distance. The grocery directly across the street held everything we needed. The beach was a short walk away. And if we didn't feel like leaving we had our own resort.
We discovered first, a sloth up in the tree next to Zen Villa and then a very young sloth on the path next to Zen. Absolutely amazing! We did wake up to the Howlers in the mornings but did not see any at the compound.
We renting bikes for the week and all took various rides - mostly to Puerto Viejo. Or, just to the beach.
Elena set up various excursions for us. Canopy tour, Waterfall hike, day trip to Panama, horseback riding, fishing... Everything was top notch and she was there every step of the way making sure we were satisfied with plans and activities.
She also set us up with a chef for a dinner. Again, top notch. Very satisfied.
I can't say enough about the customer service attached to this rental! This is our third trip to Costa Rica, first time on the Caribbean side and when we come back for our 4th trip I will be searching out Caribbean Vacation CR and their rentals again.
