About this villa rental
La casa del Sole is located nearPunta Secca, a small village in the Province of Ragusa, the most beautiful part of the southeastern coast of Sicily and the ideal place to spend your holiday.
Punta Secca is a typical fishing village, which was an old Arab port facing the African Sea. It has wonderful sunny weather but not too hot in summer and a mild climate in the winter months. Autumn and spring are particularly pleasant, especially the months of April, May, September and October when Sicilian nature is at its best and the seaside villages return to their peace and quiet, after the busy summer months. During this period it is possible to enjoy nice excursions and go trekking inland.
The golden sandy beaches of Punta Secca are all free of charge and safe, and are surrounded by low cliffs on the West and on the East. The old white lighthouse, built with dry stone at the beginning of the last century, dominates Punta Secca. This 40 meters lighthouse over towering the whole coastline is situated in the village main square.
Villa KAUKANA is immersed in the quiet of a 5000 square metres garden at a few steps from the sea. Each accommodation is independent and has its entrance in a park with a swimming pool, a play area, a small wood, a barbecue and a green area at just 250 metres from the sea. All the accommodation units are well equipped for a relaxing and highly comfortable stay: air-conditioning, a fully furnished kitchen, wide verandas and airy balconies, everything is organized to give you the best of comforts: beautiful furniture and fittings, external and garden furniture
Inside the villa a swimming pool with a big solarium is available for the guests, together with a small wood provided with benches, a picnic area with tables and barbecue, a play area for children, open-air showers, coin operated washing machines, bicycles, scooters, boats for fishing and sunbathing and a private parking space.
Three types of accommodation are available:
• “GIOVE” e “SATURNO” 4+1 beds with big verandas and direct access to the garden;
• “MARTE” 4+2 beds and a wide terrace, on the first floor;
• “VENERE” 2+1 beds with an airy balcony on the first floor.
There is a splendid sandy beach and a wonderful clean sea for pleasant days to be spent sunbathing, swimming, sailing, fishing and water skiing. Also, it is possible to rent surf boards for windsurfing. Villa KAUKANA provides car rental and scooter rental, transfer service to/from the airport and to/from train stations.

We went as a family with the youngest being 20 and the oldest 83 years of age.
The house is light and clean with comfortable beds and plenty of towels for the pool area and room showers. In the kitchen there are plenty of pots and pans together with more than enough plates, glasses and utensils. The beach in 350m easy walk but you need a car for shopping and going out to restaurants (we never used taxi so I do not know how easy they are to get).
The host is outstanding, so helpful and friendly.
Easy check in and check out.
I would recommend this hose for anyone who wants a week in the sun with friends and/or family.

Cannot fault Rosario our host, he was very helpful and obliging.
Outside space was fantastic and could always find shade or sun whichever you wanted.
Property could do with some updating as was a little tired.
Unfortunately some items that were listed on site were not at property for example , no dishwasher, no iron or ironing board, table tennis. Shortage of mugs and glasses. Wi-fi would only work on android phone but not apple as seemed security was weak.
We were at the property for 11 days and was very disappointed that at no time were we offered clean bed linen or towels. As we paid a service charge I would have expected this to be one of the services offered.
On the whole we had a good stay but would also recommend that a car is necessary however we could catch a bus at bottom of road which ran a good service.

The comfortable and practical house perfectly suited the needs of our large group. With multiple connected apartments in one home, we had the right mix of separation and communal living for our multi-generational group. There was plentiful parking on the property as well. The swimming pool and garden were wonderful. The only problem with the swimming pool is that our children never wanted to get out of it. (: The owners were very helpful, giving us great practical advice on exploring the area, and even helping us order pizza on the night of our arrival. The location is close to great beaches, and also about a half-hour drive to Ragusa, Modica, and Scicli, which were all great places to go for dinner and touring in the evening.
