About this villa rental
VENTO DI MARE is a modern villa with swimming pool located on a hill from which it is possible to admire the splendid marine panorama of Porto Palo (free beach and natural reserve of the mouth of the Belice river rich in inlets with beaches and rocks).
THE OUTSIDE
The villa overlooks a large enclosed garden (1000sqm) for exclusive use with well-kept lawn between olive and citrus trees. The garden also houses a large barbecue area and a lovely 32sqm swimming pool (depth from 1 to 1.60m). Covered parking.
INTERIORS
The house sleeps up to 7 people and consists of: 1 double bedroom with the possibility of an additional bed, 2 bedrooms with two single beds each (possibility of joining them to form a double bed), 1 large kitchen (oven, fridge, freezer and coffee machine with pods to be requested on site), 1 bathroom in the sleeping area with shower, 1 large bathroom in the living area with shower and washing machine, 1 80sqm veranda overlooking the garden.
VENTO DI MARE is located a few minutes from the sea immersed in a suggestive scenery between hills and olive groves.
It is possible to easily reach the beaches on foot or by car.
Here you can admire the typical sea of Sicily with crystal clear water and immense beaches thanks also to the recent construction of a wooden walkway along the entire beach accessible even in the evening.
The area has a small marina where you can rent inflatables and water scooters to fully enjoy the emotions that the sea offers us.
Nearby there are also small pristine beaches (called Solette) with flora and fauna characteristic of the area.
The tourist area has a mini-market, tobacconist, pizzerias / restaurants and evening pubs as well as a splendid promenade with a characteristic newly built promenade.
AROUND
A few minutes from Porto Palo it is possible to visit the cities of Sciacca, Agrigento, Selinunte, trapani and it is well connected with all the most sought-after Sicilian tourist areas.
Not to be missed are a visit to the wineries in the area and a trip to the temples of Selinunte and the Scala dei Turchi.
There is also the possibility of tastings and purchase of typical organic and seasonal products such as artichokes, ricotta, oil, wine, etc. .. directly from the surrounding countryside, and the possibility of horseback riding by reservation.
DISTANCES
The sea is about 500m from the house as the crow flies and 1.3 km by car. Porto Palo (shops, groceries, restaurants, bars and clubs on the beach, marina for pleasure boats); 6 km Menfi (all kinds of shops), 20 km the temples of Selinunte, about 40 minutes Agrigento.
There is the possibility of tastings and purchase of typical organic and seasonal products such as artichokes, ricotta, oil, wine, etc. .. directly from the surrounding countryside, and the possibility of horseback riding on reservation

Es ist ein sehr schönes Haus. Die große Küche hat alles was man braucht und noch mehr. Auch die Bäder sind großzügig und schön. Der Garten und der Pool sind ein Traum. Es war alles sauber, sehr gut organisiert. Wir hatten jederzeit auch einen Ansprechpartner, der immer geholfen hat. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und etwas abgelegen. Ohne Auto geht es nicht, weil auch die Ortschaft ca. 15 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt ist. Zum Strand kann man zwar zu Fuß gehen, was wir oft gemacht haben, aber man läuft ca. 30 Minuten dahin. Zwei Punkte waren nicht ganz ideal, für 7 Personen ist dieses Haus wirklich nicht geeignet. Eines der Zimmer ist ein Durchgangszimmer und nicht schön zum Schlafen. Am besten ist das Haus für 2 Paare oder Eltern mit 2 Kindern geeignet. Die Müllentsorgung war außerdem sehr sehr mühsam. Man muss den ganzen Müll ca. 3-5 KM entfernt zu einer Mülldeponie fahren, die im September z.B. nur an 3 Abende von 18-20 Uhr auf hat. Es war nicht so schön mit dem mit Müll bepackten Auto dort hin zu fahren. Vielleicht findet sich dafür eine bessere Lösung. Insgesamt aber war es sehr schön.

Unsere Unterkunft war auf den ersten Blick in Ordnung. Die Bilder der Unterkunft und die dargestellte Größe waren in Realität kleiner. Eines der drei Schlafzimmer war der Beschreibung entsprechend groß, ein zweites klein und das dritte ist eigentlich ein Durchgangszimmer. Wo eine vielleicht siebte Person hätte schlafen können, blieb uns unentdeckt. Die Küche ist sehr großzügig und funktional eingerichtet, mit allem was man brauchte. Essbereich und Veranda sind ebenfalls großzügig und völlig in Ordnung. Der Pool hatte den Kindern viel Spaß bereitet. Die Kommunikation und Hilfen vom Vermieter waren gut.
Abstriche gibt’s für die Pflege und Ordnung im Garten/ Parkbereich, es war ziemlich zugewachsen, rasen wurde zwar gemäht, auch der Pool gereinigt, aber der Eindruck der Oberflächlichkeit wurde geweckt. Das kleine Duschhaus, zum Abduschen nach dem Baden im Pool, hatte ich selbst auf Vordermann gebracht. Die Größe insgesamt, angegeben mit 1000m² ist unrealistisch.
Der Strand, erreichbar nach kurzen Fußmarsch, ist beinahe Naturbelassen (dunkelgelber feiner Sand mit Felsen, klares Wasser), wir waren allein, nur der Müll war unsere Begleiter (wir bereinigten Teile des Strandes).
Ein Entsorgungskonzept ist in Sizilien zwar angelegt, leider wird dieses nach unseren Recherchen nicht vernünftig umgesetzt. Die nötigen Informationen, wie und wo wir unseren Müll abgeben konnten erfuhren wir bei Gesprächen auf der Straße (das sollte vom Vermieter geregelt werden). Prinzipiell ist es äußerst bedauerlich, dass sich die Menschen in Sizilien keine Gedanken über Sauberkeit ihrer Heimat machen. Der überall herumliegende Müll kann keineswegs von Urlaubern stammen. Schade, dass die EU nicht in der Lage ist, Pfand-Gebühren für Glas- und Plastikflaschen durchzusetzt. Auch Palermo, eine geschichtsträchtige Stadt, erstickt förmlich im Müll.
Traurig ist auch, dass der von uns am Strand eingesammelte Müll (sechsköpfige Familie – täglich drei große Plastik-Säcke voll) abgegeben an verschiedenen Sammelstellen, nicht mitgenommen wurde und sich teilweise (Tage später) auf den Straßen wieder verteilte. Schwierig dabei war, den Kindern diesen Umstand zu erklären.
Fazit zum Urlaub:
Kleine Abstriche am Objekt in Kauf genommen, sehr gut erholt dank ruhiger Lage und dem schönen Wetter, den tollen Strand und das Wasser sowie die Ausflüge genossen. Kulinarisch eine Freude!
