Gamla Stan Apartments

Location was great. Had charm and character. Well stocked kitchen - good coffee! Washing machine was great - cleaned very well.

The smoke detector was not installed which is kind of scary in a city that seems to constantly burn down. Sleeping three is a bit of a challenge since you have to pass thru one room to get to the bathroom. The whole apartment is sagging which is a little unnerving.

Location was excellent, lovely historic apartment with generous living space.

The separate bathroom facility (shower / toilet separate) wasn’t ideal but appreciate that it’s an old building and space is limited.

We had a fantastic stay at Marta in Gamla Stan. The location is excellent – right in the heart of the Old Town and within walking distance of all the main attractions. The apartment was great value for money, especially considering how spacious and well-appointed it was. It had everything we could possibly need and felt like a real home away from home. We travelled with two small children, and the stairs were absolutely fine. The listing clearly explains that the apartment is in a historic building with slanting floors and no lift, so we knew exactly what to expect. We appreciated the honesty, and it wasn’t an issue for us at all. Despite being in such a central location, the apartment was surprisingly quiet, making it easy for our children to sleep after busy days exploring Stockholm. Overall, Marta is a spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped apartment in an unbeatable location. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stockholm.

Amazing location - could not possibly be better! In the old town but 70M from the waterfront, so easy to get everywhere. Kind, helpful house manager - Synnöve. She was just wonderful!

It’s a very old building - charming, but not for people with mobility challenges. There is no elevator, the floors are lopsided, there are little steps everywhere. Two of the people in our group had injuries (unexpected, right before the trip) - so this was not a great place for us. No AC and windows that are very hard to work - we arrived during a heat wave and all of the windows were locked shut, it was stifling inside, and we needed the house manager’s help to figure out the windows. It was a lousy start, unfortunately. Beds are painfully soft, absolutely zero support. And the rooms are jam packed with furniture, so there is also no place to put your luggage except to open your case on the floor.
