Gudvangen Budget Hotel

The view on three waterfalls from the terrace was gorgeous!

It would be good to have facility for drying clothes, so many rainy days!

Stunning location, very clean and comfortable room, and nice people at the reception and in the restaurant. We would definitely book this room again if we would come back :)

I cannot praise this place highly enough. I hadn’t read an email properly and I misunderstood check-in. Reception immediately upgraded us and when we discovered that it had been my fault all along, would not accept any money. Anyway, thanks Gudvangen. Our room was lovely with a small kitchen, a veranda and knockout views. There were ample free hot drinks available, the shower was great and the bed comfortable. The hotel restaurant was about 50m away and it served good quality food. We did not have a breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. The area is absolutely stunning and in the evening when everyone has left it is a delight to walk around.

There was nothing to dislike about the hotel.

The location is lovely. We took the Norway in a Nutshell fjord ferry and did an overnight here. The soaring mountains and cascading waterfalls are beautiful.

It's very clean but basically a hostel situation with shared bathrooms and tiny rooms. It was $600 for one night for 2 rooms and I knew we were paying for the view and location, but it was still a shock when I saw how basic it was for this price. I had requested 2 twin beds in one room for my son and daughter but all beds were doubles. My son slept on the floor, so that was not optimal at this price point. I liked the remoteness and beautiful surroundings but in hindsight I would have stayed in Flamm or another nearby village with more options and slightly better prices.
