San Marco 2 terraces apartment: Muneghe

The apartment was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos but even better! The mix of modern amenities and a more traditional Venetian aesthetic was exactly what we were hoping for. Comfortable beds, soft bedding and a welcoming and warm space. The location was ideal and Marta was easy to communicate with and provided a lot of information about the area. Her list of recommended restaurants was perfect! Would love to stay here again on our next trip to Venice.

The unit was very nice and the guy who helped us find it and get us settled did a great job. We were a bit surprised to find one king bed and two twin beds as the picture shows with the purple bedding it a queen size. I thought it would have sheets for that size so it was a bit awkward trying to push the beds together. I also found those smaller beds to be hard and the pillows quite hard - so I was not comfortable. The king size bed was good for the other couple though. The biggest issue we had was the garbage rules. In Venice they do not have trash cans and the garbage hauler comes everyday which you need to be home to give him the garbage as you cannot leave it outside. In the 4 days we were there the hauler never showed up and then the owner told us we needed to walk it to the location which is several blocks away. Soo, we did that when she told us the times they were open and they were closed... this was very annoying and I personally don' think it should be our responsibility to handle the garbage when we are trying to pack and get out the door to catch an airplane. As someone who travels often, I have never had to deal with garbage rules like this before. Other than the garbage issue I did think the terrace was wonderful and the location was convenient to walking around.

Place was just as described. Only drawback was the stairs up to the apartment carrying luggage but we managed. Host was prompt for any questions we had during our stay.

We stayed 4 nights at the end of April. The quality and finish of the apartment is excellent, you could tell it was restored with loving care and attention. Big, comfy beds, excellent bathrooms and a lovely terrace. The kitchen area is small, but adequate for breakfast - who eats in when in Venice?The terrace has no canal view, but is really quiet and generally shaded - some morning sun only. We stayed in April and the shade was lovely, in summer it would be essential.Location is fantastic - 5 minutes to San Marco, 5 minutes to Accademia, 10 minutes to Rialto, it literally could not be better for visitors wanting to explore the tourist highlights. Obviously everything in Venice is nearby, but having it on your doorstep was a bonus for novices like us.Marta (the owner) is very welcoming and informative, she obviously cares about the property a lot.Only a very minor problem - the air conditioning not working until the last morning. Maybe we did something wrong, and we didnt really need it after the first night, but we couldnt get it to work at all until we accidentally tripped the power (oops! grill kettle was too much juice, Marta did warn us!). After we reset the fuseboard the air con came on full blast though!I wont finish on a negative though, we really enjoyed our stay in this apartment, Id have no hesitation recommending it to anyone looking for spacious, well-presented accommodation for 4 (or 3 or 2). First class.
