The staff were so friendly and helpful! Our room was clean and comfortable and had an amazing shower. The breakfast was exceptional. We loved the surroundings, the garden and the pool, and the cats! Getting into the old town was easy especially given the free parking recommended to us. Would definitely return!

A perfect stay, allowing to feel like family. Location simplifies meeting other guests and sharing local advices, and feeling good.

The staff was friendly, especially the young man who greeted us upon arrival. The girls who prepared breakfast were nice, but they didn't explain all the breakfast options. The bed linens and towels were of good quality. The breakfast was okay, but serving a slice of the cheapest cheese and ham wasn't "comme il faut."

I realized this guesthouse is an old family farm, dating back a century. It's nice that the new generation of owners is trying to preserve the legacy of their ancestors. But this shouldn't be done at the expense of the guests. I don't know the quality of the rooms facing the courtyard, but those in the main building (we stayed in a family suite) were depressing. The flooring was dirty, and there wasn't even a closet or any large shelf or surface for storing things. Even the nightstand next to the single bed was so slanted that it was impossible to fit a glass in it. The doors were antique; none of them—the entrance door, the one between the rooms, or the one in the shower—could be closed tightly. This suggests a cheap renovation. There was no door at all between the living area and the washroom. At least the toilet locked. I'm not even mentioning the lack of a refrigerator, kettle, or cups in the room, as that's all. You can use them if you go down to the kitchen. But running 2-3 times to make a new cup of tea is a bit tiring. There wasn't even a disposable cup for toothbrushes. I stayed in Coimbra only because I liked the guesthouse in the photos on Booking.com, but our stay there was uncomfortable.
