Mahana 501 boasts gorgeous views of both the tranquil blue Pacific Ocean and the lush West Maui Mountains. There is tasteful antique artwork and custom hand carved pieces by local artists throughout. The lanai has a ceiling fan and additional ambient lighting for extended dining and use. There truly is no better place on the island to enjoy your morning coffee and whale watch from than your private lanai.

The quiet surroundings and manicured tropical gardens at the Mahana at Kaanapali offer guests a wonderful sense of privacy yet all the exciting activities of Kaanapali Beach are close by. The resort is located in the central and convenient Honokowai area on Maui's west side. A private gate from The Mahana provides easy access to the boardwalk that goes for miles and eventually leads to the Kaanapali Beach resort area. Take a short walk on the boardwalk or the beach to Duke's restaurant next door or to one of the nearby resorts for fine dining and entertainment.

*We don't provide beach umbrellas, toys, or gears, such as snorkeling, due to safety, health, and hygiene risks.
BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to weather, heavy surf, strong currents, and tides. Due to Maui's rural setting, you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don't kill them. Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Maui is in a tropical climate. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.
**We make no guarantee that properties adjacent to the Unit will be free from disturbances, including but not limited to noise or inconvenience from construction, traffic or other guests or neighbors. Any such disturbance shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment. By booking your stay with us, you accept that Host is not liable for any inconveniences arising from any temporary defect or stoppage in supply of water, electricity, air conditioning or plumbing that is beyond their control. Host is not liable for any loss or damage to Tenants' personal property caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, or other events beyond their control. Tenants accept that the cable and internet service at the Rental can be sporadic and unreliable at times, and Tenant shall not be entitled to any refund of the rental fee in the event either of these services are unavailable or not operating properly during Tenants' stay

What I liked:-beautiful direct views of the beach from the living interior area and the balcony-great furnishings and decoration-well stocked with kitchen cookware, serving ware, and utensils-in unit washer/dryer-clean interior-grill and pool/hot tub were great amenitiesWhat I didn’t like: -no warning that the AC was not working properly; even with the shades down the apartment was at 80 degrees; not great with a baby; the building sent notice that repairs would take place the day of our departure-only given 4 dishwasher pods for a seven night stay (it won’t kill you to just keep a box of dishwasher detergent under the sink like most short term rentals); ultimately the property manager sent more, but only after having to beg for them-balcony was covered in sand, had to sweep and wash off the balcony myself-guest room ac smells like mildew

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The nicely appointed apartment was roomy and comfortable. The view was amazing. It was a perfect place for nice, relaxing vacation.

What a beautiful location and view! Loved being on the fifth floor. Still able to hear the ocean waves at night. This unit was decorated very nicely and with the abundant mirrors everywhere, it seemed much larger! I would definitely stay in this unit again, and probably will! However, I wish the owners or management company would take a closer look at some things... Restock the drinking glasses. There were only 3 drinking glasses in the cabinet. There were also three plastic glasses which were nice to take to the pool - but one of them had been put back in the cabinet without being cleaned - dried fruit on the inside, gross.Just some better basic cleaning. There were some things that were just to dirty not to mention. the doors around the doorknobs are filthy. Same with the baseboards and tile grout.(when your in the bathroom, you can't help but notice...) Nice to have a washer and dryer- but the dryer needs repairs.The stereo from 1999 doesn't work and is just taking up space on the kitchen counter.Not nitpicking, but these things should be addressed. It's a BEAUTIFUL unit but could use a little TLC.Verify your usage dates. There was some confusion between VRBO and the management company - our check in was NOT smooth...I hope this review is helpful. Like I stated before, I would stay here again because it is such a great location.Aloha
