Templar Secrets House

The templar theme is perfect. A very nice place if you like hunting: you can chase bed bugs all night, if you are not comfortable with them. The total was circa 30 pieces of insects from the 3 beds over one night. I'm very grateful that there was one bed out of three with only a low number of bugs, so that I could sleep a little bit. Please read carefully the ratings with low points as well!

It seems quite a neglected flat, kitchen and room have bad smell, many broken or neglected parts. Nothing was fresh in the breakfast. And the little insects coming out from the beds are real and very annoying, the host seems ignorant to this crucial problem that seemingly persists over years now.

I got so much more than I paid for: Luis was a generous and charming host who upgraded me to a bigger room, as it was hot in the small room I'd booked. There were eggs, toast, yoghurt, fruit and much more for breakfast (even fresh strawberries!) and I felt completely at home. It was good to be a little outside the town centre, and an easy walk back after dinner. A wonderful friendly place to stay, for pilgrims and travellers alike.

I had a great time at this place. Generous breakfast. Clean sheets and beds. Clean shower and bathtub. It reminded me of my grand mother's house (in a good way I mean). Great stay for a very affordable price.

It's not new or fancy but I like it anyway.

There are no grocery stores or restaurants around up on the hill, so it was very nice to have some breakfast foods provided, as well as coffee and milk

The property is only surface clean. It requires a serious deep clean. The fridge is dirty, the kitchen towels and sponges need to be changed out more often. It was difficult to know what was clean and fresh and what was not for some towels, but some were very dirty The food items in the fridge were not in containers o VW opened and there was no way to know how old they were after being opened. The banister rail upstairs is very loose, the toilet seat in the main floor bathroom is held on with string wire, the skunk upstairs is held together with foam caulking, so there are maintenance issues. I have stayed in other places during this trip to Portugal that are the same price point and do not have these issues As a guesthouse there is usually someone around to make inquiries of, and this was not the case as there was not someone living on the property.
