A beautiful little cottage, which actually isn't all that little! It was perfect for our family of three, and for entertaining the in-laws for dinner. It has a lovely garden with beautiful views. Our young son was beside himself with excitement at being able to watch some tractors at work when we arrived, and it is securely fenced, so we could allow our son and dog to play outside without worry. The kitchen is very well appointed, there is a lovely big dining table and comfy sofas in the living area, and the bedrooms were quiet and very comfortable. Honestly, we cannot fault it at all, and we look forward to staying again.

Steve & Cara were very welcoming - if you need anything just ask! Set in amongst the Welsh hills it's a beautiful spot and just right for walking, cycling etc. The community shop in Brechfa is great, so friendly and well stocked. The cottage is comfortable and has all you need for your stay. Thank you S&C

The cottage is spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped.
Steve is a great host, welcoming and approachable. We had a relaxing stay. The garden is secure for dogs which is really important for us. Highly recommended.

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Only downside was no internet connection and hit and miss with mobile phone signal.

Cottage was just as described. Lovely welcome from Cara. Good communication with Steve. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Quiet location; lots of walking close. We appreciated milk, tea and coffee provided.
Meal at the Farmers Arms was excellent. We’d definitely stay again.

My wife, I, and our cavvie had a great stay in Gorlech Cottage - plenty big enough for the 3 of us, a fully enclosed patio/mini-lawn area the hound can be let outside into without constant supervision and a very nice pub just down the road in Brechfa.
Would very much use again if/when we go back to the area!

Cosy cottage in a beautiful location
We had a fantastic stay in the cottage and enjoyed the tranquility and amazing scenery of the local area. Steve was very friendly and on hand to help us throughout our stay (and even afterward as my partner left behind some items)! We had a wondeful mini break :)

Lovely quiet cottage
We had a lovely three night stay at Brechfa cottage. Beautifully cosy cottage perfect for three humans and a dog. Extremely helpful and friendly hosts made us feel very welcome. Very peaceful location close to Brechfa and Abergorlech (you can access forest walks from the latter). Both lovely villages with pubs. We had a lovely meal at the Forest Arms in Brecfa (book ahead), The Black Lion in Abergorlech is also supposed to be lovely but we left it too late and couldn't get a table. The beach at Llansteffan is beautiful, we also enjoyed the castle at Dinefwr and lunch at Wright's in Llanarthne! Lots to do in the area, what we loved was that it was so peaceful with great roads and really not very busy with loads of tourists and congested traffic. Would definitely recommend. Thank you, we loved our stay and the break did us good x

Great location, comfortable cottage with lots of lovely touches. Hosts incredibly helpful when we had a family emergency. Steve gave us plenty of tips about where to go and what to do in the local area - 2 very good pubs close to the property.

Beautifully appointed cottage in perfect location
Steve happened to meet us in person with his adorable little dog Bodhi when we arrived at this amazing cottage, although he also has a great set up for contactless check in too. The cottage itself is perfect, really tastefully furnished and equipped with all the appliances and items you might need on your holiday. The beds are very comfortable and there’s loads of space to relax, inside and out. The location is incredible, right in the heart of Brechfa forest, only a few minutes cycle to the start of some brilliant purpose built mountain biking trails of varying difficulty (we also hired 2 really good mountain bikes from Steve for the day). It is also under an hour to New Quay in the north and Saundersfoot in the south of the area if you want to get to the coast. The weather was, let’s say unpredictable, but that didn’t stop us doing anything. I’m sure we only touched the surface in terms of stuff you can do in this area but we would love to return soon. Thanks again Steve for all of your help and recommendations too.

So peaceful and quiet
Lovely cottage and surroundings. Sid our rescued Spanish greyhound was made most welcome and love dog walking country. Love the little brown resident spaniel who loved a fuss and made friends with Sid. Thoroughly recommend 👌

We had a fantastic holiday. The cottage is tastefully decorated, with everything you need and a lovely warm atmosphere. You can't beat the location with gorgeous views across the valley to the wooded hills. Steve was a fantastic host. Always keen to help if needed, especially regarding local bike trails, things to do and hiring us a bike! We are definitely keen to return next year. Christine, Graham and Archie

Wonderful break in beautiful Wales
We really had the best time in Wales. We were very spoilt with a lovely week of weather, but even so, the location of the property was surrounded by the beautiful Brechfa Forest which was so lovely to wake up to! The cottage was comfortable and ticked all our boxes with a lovely large table perfect for dinner time and board games. The outdoor space was great for our little dog and also looked out at the beautiful forest. Star gazing outside was also up there! Location wise we found it relatively close to the areas we wished to explore and also went to the owners three favourite beaches! We've been reminiscing this week and what a lovely break it was.... and would like to come back! Thank you to Stephen.

A great escape
We had a great time here. The cottage has all you need and our hosts were helpful and friendly whilst respecting your privacy. A lot of the neighbouring trails were closed (likely Covid related) but the cottage is perfectly positioned to explore the Welsh coastline in any direction.

Beautiful Cottage
Cannot fault this cottage, one of the best we've stayed in. Beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need to hand with very comfy beds! Quiet location superb for exploring the area, lots of great local walks, about hours drive to the beaches, and a mile from a lovely pub!
Steve and his wife who live onsite are brilliant, there to help without being intrusive. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break.

Family Holiday
We had the most fantastic time staying at this beautiful cottage. The location is simply stunning and the cottage comfy, very well equipped and with beautiful views in the garden (and friendly cows who came to visit us). We loved the mountain biking in Brechfa Forest and great that we could cycle straight there from the cottage. Thanks Steve and Cara for a lovely week, we are already discussing our next visit!

This is what you are looking for!
Do you want access to hiking, mountain bike trails, horse trails, scenery, and to practice your driving on one-way lanes through the hills of Wales where every mile opens up to picture perfect scenery? Where the food is delicious (and can be cooked by you in a well-equipped kitchen with a peaceful view of woods and a back pasture, then eaten in a living room dining room with TV and wifi access or out on the patio or you can go down to the local Inn for healthy food in a unique pub)? Then quick, click on the link and reserve your vacation at this wonderful, picturesque cottage that is close to more places of interest than it may at first appear. The interior is comfortable, furnished with an eye to rest and conversation. The two bedrooms are furnished sparely with a peaceful quality that inivites a good night's sleep.
The owners are friendly, helpful, and energetic! I would spend a month there if I could as it was so easy to just be at peace reading or walking or be on the go to the ocean, the Brecon Beacons, or the cities.
There is no reason to say no if this area of Wales is your destination.

Lovely cottage in rural location, but near to local amenities (small shop and pubs). Fantastic local walks and bike trails. Great for forest, coast and only an hour from pen y fan. Cottage great for young families with secure enclosed garden and very comfy beds!

A home from home in a delightful area
The cottage was warm and cosy and was a great base for the local area. It had everything that you are likely to need including sharp knives!
We went walking at Carreg Cennen castle which is great if you fancy a more open walk, all in all - a great place to stay.

Escape from it all location by Brechfa Forest
Enjoyable few days spent at the cottage which was dog friendly, very clean, well furnished and fully kitted out with all the home from home utensils etc. Good views of the forest and valley areas from the patio area waking up to 2 friendly horses in the field adjacent to the cottage!
Excellent walking & mountain bike treks within easy reach via car and a mile to the local village pub.
I would have rated 5 stars however on our last day (Sunday) we were woken up to workmen and tree cutting machinery outside our dining/bedroom windows who were early as they wanted to beat the rain!
Steve apologised but we felt pressured to leave early so a disappointing end to our stay.
would still recommend though.

Stunning cottage amongst a stunning location
Me and my wife recently booked Gorlech cottage for a few nights over new year. Upon arrival we were greeted by Steve who was incredibly helpful showing us around the place. The cottage has been recently renovated and we were really taken back how lovely it all looked. There is plenty of space, while still keeping a cosy feel. There is a nice pub that is a pleasant 20 minute walk away, and another pub just 5 miles in the other direction (which serves particularly good food!)
The local area offers some amazing long walks and bike rides if you are feeling adventurous, but if you are also just looking for a relaxing getaway this place is ideal. Llandeilo is a short drive away and has some amazing little bespoke places to eat and drink.
Steve and Cara were really welcoming and also came to our rescue when we accidentally locked ourselves out one evening! Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Lovely property with great attention to detail
Steve was really helpful and supplied good directions. The property was spotless and exactly as described. The touches of milk in the fridge, tea and coffee, welsh cakes etc being there was much appreciated as we arrived very late after a long journey. The house was warm, the beds and bedding were quality and comfortable and the towels fluffy.
It has everything you need and great little extras like an iPod, wellies, fully kitted out kitchen, dog towel and couldn't be better placed for Brechfa Forest for the bikers and walkers amongst us. Would highly recommend it and will certainly be visiting again. Thank you Steve for your hospitality.

lovely and peaceful get-away
Had a lovely and peaceful getaway with my children. Steve met us at the driveway with a huge smile and a warm welcome.
The kids loved the house and had space to spread out. I enjoyed the comfy beds, furniture, updated (fancy!) kitchen, and plush towels. We were within 20 minutes of both the Co-op in Llandeilo and Tesco (with Costa!) in Carmarthen. Highly recommend the drive to Aberporth beach, if you're so inclined.
We had a great time and will definitely be back.
