Quinta da Fogueira - Holiday Home

This beautiful house has been upgraded recently with new plumbing, electrical and heating throughout the house without disrupting the antique beauty in a Grand building. Seven bedrooms with ensuite showers or bath or both are all decorated with period furniture. The kitchen is new with an induction cooktop, new oven and dishwasher and refrigerator . One formal dining room was hardly used by us as we preferred the Great Room with a table to easily seat 14 and several sofas and chairs along with a large screen TV and Wi-Fi and also in this same huge room a full size pool table with lots of room to enjoy a game. The grounds are walled with two gated entries and vegetation is well maintained with several orange and lime trees. This house must have many stories to tell but as guests we enjoyed imagining what they might be. We were a small group of six with three more joining us. and never felt crowded or that the house was too big. The landlords were easily available and greeted us with a starter pack of groceries and wine from the area. As the village is only a couple of kilometres from the Velodrome in Sangalos, our daughter was able to attend events there and easily return home for lunch. It would be a perfect place for a cycling tour or racing group to stay. We found that each of us at some point imagined living here - probably the best reference any property can get. We loved it and will be back.

Huge property and large villa in the countryside. Renovated bathrooms and kitchen. Great restaurant nearby. Musty smell from old furniture and beds all need to be replaced. Pool was not kept up: grass never cut around pool even after asking. Worst part was the nearby dogs barking for hours on end. Know it was not your fault but very, very annoying. Don’t like to be so critical but...... Susan
