Casa Mestre André

This was one of the best accommodations we visited as family in several last years. Very nice vacation house, fully equipped, very clean, very comfortable with all you need. Pool was clean. House owner sent us history of the house which was very nice. Marcel, who welcomed us, was very kind and nice to us. Thank you Location is exceptional, one of the best we have seen. Close beaches, caves....

Nothing, maybe nearby restaurant could be little bit disturbing for very sensitive people.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Mestre André! The owner was very helpful with providing information in advance and the property was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool was so nice to have and our children spent a lot of time playing in it. There are two beautiful beaches a few minutes walk away. It is possible to walk to a few different restaurants and the cooking facilities at the house are excellent too. We had a wonderful holiday in beautiful Benagil and the house was everything we hoped for.

We immediately felt at home in this cozy typical Portuguese house. We had everything available for a safe week of holiday in our own corona-bubble. The pool provided the necessary cooling. We could also appreciate the inner BBQ and the washing machine. The location of the house on top of the rocks is also fantastic! The Algarve is a fantastic place you must have seen. Benagil is a gem is the middle of this natural wonder from where you can easily visit all the other sights by car.

There is no bakery or little food-shop in the aria. We had a lot of noise from renovations nearby.

This is a lovely spacious villa with beautiful décor, excellent kitchen facilities and the beds were very comfortable compared to most beds I've encountered in Portugal. The host's team met me on arrival and showed us all of the important features and answered some questions for us. They were friendly and spoke excellent English. The splash pool is great and kept lovely and clean. The washing and drying facilities are super helpful. The gardens look and smell gorgeous (especially at night!) We had a few problems with the villa during our stay but the host and his team were exceptionally reactive and helpful in solving these issues and were usually sorted within a few hours - I believe we were quite unlucky as some things broke due to a storm and others just happened - everything is well maintained and looks fairly new so just bad luck but well managed and handled and host was friendly and apologetic. There are 2 lock boxes on the property so we could easily share the keys if we went out at different times and these were easily returned at the end of our stay when we had an early departure. Otherwise the host's team would have met us to receive these from us. The outside table with big umbrella was lovely for lunches in the shade. Nice to have a couple of fans for those hotter nights. There are many spaces to sit or sunbathe and the villa had the full sun (except on cloudy days!) from sunrise to sunset. There isn't a lot of shade available outside however for those with fairer skin. The kitchen is well set up for cooking, bbq (indoors) and has a dishwasher, fridge freezer and separate freezer as well as all dishes and pots you may need to cook family dinners. There is a nice coffee maker too! We had a good stay here and although I have written some things about its drawbacks (these could easily be sorted and would make the stay much nice!

The property is NOT detached as advertised - it is attached to a busy and noisy restaurant (the food is good but very over looked and noisy when trying to relax!) and it is not friendly for those with mobility difficulties due to many different levels and steps. This villa has no outside privacy - it is overlooked on all sides so when trying to sunbathe and relax we felt very obvious from the road and see on all sides. This could be easily solved with some screens or extra plants and would have made our experience more comfortable. If there is a power cut the boiler goes out and there is no hot water - not really a problem IF we had known as there were 6 power cuts in 10 days and so we had a lot of cold showers!! The rooms have strange storage - two rooms no wardrobe and limited hanging space (especially for short people as what there is is up very high! And one room had no drawers or shelf and another just a shoe rack. A shame as us girls bring many changes of clothing! There are two bathrooms but one is outside which is not obvious when reading the booking details or helpful in the middle of the night but good when by the pool! This villa allegedly sleeps 6 but the beds would be small for couples (unless you like to cuddle up!!) and there is only seating for 3 comfortably in the living room - please get rid of the horrible plastic seat and cushion covers - not very comfortable!! or buy some throws? Also only 5 sunbeds so if 6 people stayed here one would always be without a sunbed though there are chairs. The outside table only seats 4 comfortably too. Lots of flies! Fly spray was given but maybe a fly zapper would help - no idea why or where they came from but 6 or 8 a day would congregate in the lounge and then be sprayed to death....! It was difficult to get around without a car. No taxi rank and most taxis didn't want to come out so far. No Shops for essentials. Couple of restaurants open short hours.
