The Mermaid Retreat is a great couples' or small-family rental. We are on the shores of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. We are within walking distance to Lover's Point Beach, downtown Pacific Grove, Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf. Pebble Beach, Carmel, Carmel Valley, and Point Lobos State Reserve are just minutes away. Big Sur is 26 miles south, and Hearst Castle is only 90 miles south on Scenic Highway #1.
Sit on a bench out front, and watch the seals and otters play in the giant kelp beds. Or stroll the hiking trail along the shore at sunset.
Our season is year-round! So book your reservation now, before it's too late.
The Fall is the peninsula's best-kept secret.

Great location, cute little cottage with everything you need. A few quibbles: we got no communication on how to enter on arrival though when we got there it was not an issue but that was anxiety producing nonetheless. A skylight over the bed is not conducive to sleeping-in or afternoon naps, and the Wi-Fi is ok in the bedroom area but weak elsewhere. We really appreciated that the hosts accommodated our dog and the proximity to the Oceanside trail is great for walks!

We love Pacific Grove and the cosy feel of the Mermaid Retreat. Its location one block from the ocean, close to Lover’s Point is excellent. The owners are helpful and friendly. It is also dog friendly. This was our third stay and we will be back. Thanks, Barry and Elizabeth
