About this villa rental
Moon River Retreat is a spacious, luxurious semi-detached 2-bedroom villa just 45 minutes south of Hobart in the stunning Huon Valley, close to the village of Cygnet.
With spectacular, 180-degree views over the beautiful bay and the surrounding hills, Moon River has a sophisticated, relaxing interior, which makes it an ideal get-away for 1 or 2 couples travelling together
Enjoy sitting on the private terrace and watch the yacht regattas, Enjoy a glass of wine and be amazed at the myriad of stars on a clear night, or snuggle up in front of a cosy, log fire in the depth of winter. We cant promise snow, but who knows!
Take a short 4km drive to Cygnet for all your food requirements; local produce abounds or visit Cygnet’s Red Velvet Lounge (Vegetarian) or The Conservatory Cafe amongst others for lunch; or ILHA Restaurant, the Commercial (Bottom Pub) for dinner. Enjoy a short drive to Peppermint Bay at Woodbridge or the Oyster Bay Inn at Kettering. Numerous cafes and craft shops await.
Moon River is a self-catering, fully self-contained non-smoking villa. The property is not suitable for children due to some undenied areas and a large dam.
Pets: No. The owners have two dogs.
Smoking: No smoking anywhere on property.

If caused by the client, money paid is not refundable unless the house is re-let for the entire period. If a refund is applicable, due to the property being re-let, then a $50 cancellation fee will apply. The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. however the owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.

This property has all the comforts of home.A well equiped kitchen, top quality beds in the bedrooms and ample comfortable seating in the lounge. The outdoor deck has a bbq, table, chairs and potted fesh herbs to use.The living space has a fireplace for colder nights. The house looks out over the river towards the hills, absolutely stunning.
Mon and Matt are gratious hosts, friendly and approachable.
We had the most relaxing time.
As a bonus we were spoiled with a generous welcome basket filled with Tasmanian products, 2 cheeses, biscuits, fresh strawberries, bottle of cider.
I can highly recommend this property.

We'd recommend Moon River Retreat. Our host, Mon, was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the cosy accommodation with log fire and beautiful views. Loved exploring the Huon Valley especially the Tahune Airwalk. Close to the amazing Bruny Island, too. Thank you!

This is the second time we stayed at Moon River Retreat. The hosts, Mon and Matt, are lovely and the location is really nice. Everything is well set up and there’s a great collection of books about Tasmania to flick through. We highly recommend it.
