Spent a night at LA Basiglia as part of my self-guided tour of the Barolo region. So happy I chose this place! The house is right outside the village, about a 2-3 minute walk to the historic core and with sweeping views from all sides. The family is very sweet and kind, and put a lot of effort to make the room comfortable and authentic. They must be so happy to enjoy the stunning scenery full-time. The room was spacious, very clean, and came with a private little garden with beautiful views of the countryside. Monforte d’alba is fascinating: very well preserved, with beautiful historic architecture and an elevated wine+food culture. Would highly recommend for a quiet stop along the wine route!
