Lovely modern apartment just behind Calais plage

Quiet suburban location just a stone’s throw from the beach and promenade. 5 mins walk to Bleriot Plage where there is a boulangerie and a couple of bar/cafes. Very spacious apartment with a great kitchen and living area, nice view to the beach and sea.

Lovely place near the beach

An excellent property, very close to the beach. There was a nice balcony, from which you could see the ferries. We had a remote check-in which was straightforward and it was easy to park outside. The host had left helpful information (in French) about local restaurants and a tourist map of Calais. The rooms were spacious, the bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. It was a real bonus having a bath. There were also some welcome extras in the property, including a child's buggy, high chair and a parasol.

We enjoyed our stay but the reason that we did not give the property full marks was that we were told that we had to keep the property clean ourselves or pay a cleaning charge of €40. This took a little bit of the enjoyment and ability to fully relax away from our stay. It would have been useful to have different bins upstairs for the different types of waste, given the recycling system. Also worth noting that the flat is up a flight of stairs. A washing machine would have been useful.

Nice apartment, great beach and very nice landlord. This apartment is very modern and tastefully furnished, and you can park for free right in front of the door. The fine sandy beach is located across the street and is a dream! The environment is unique, fresh baked goods are a five-minute walk away. Shopping centre, Lidl market, Aldi are a few minutes away by car. I'm happy and looking forward to the next time in Calais.

Best place to stay in Calais!

Such a beautiful, extremely clean and well located apartment! It is fitted with all necessities on arrival (toilet paper, kitchen towels, oil, salt, pepper and more) The landlady is very sweet and makes you feel very welcome. Delicious bakery and supermarket close-by, we will definitely stay here again!

Lovely relaxing break in wonderful accommodation.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, very very spacious, light and extremely well equipped and furnished in a minimalist style with a lovely bathroom and really comfortable bed. The hosts were helpful and absolutely charming and the location was quiet and peaceful yet just yards from the beach. We would be very happy to return again...

Unfortunately there were major roadworks taking place which spoilt the lovely sunset view from the large terrace however once they are complete the renovation of the promenade will greatly enhance the area. The bathroom windows are clear glass and you can see through the blinds - some self adhesive obscure window foil applied to the bottom section would give some privacy when sat on the toilet without putting down the shutters!

Maybe a little more information about restaurants and opening times would be useful in English. I think they did provide this but there wasn’t an English Version. Am washing machine would also be ideal so that we can stay longer and not have to bring as many clothes.

Gute Lage, aber insgesamt mehr Schein als Sein

Die Lage des Hauses ist gut und nur wenige Geh-Minuten vom Strand entfernt. Das Haus war im Großen und Ganzen sauber und die Betten ordentlich bezogen und alles frisch. Die Ausstattung der Möbel war auch gut und ausreichend. Bäcker, Eis-Cafes, Spielplätze und auch Supermärkte waren fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Liegen und sogar ein Kinder-Buggy standen in der Garage bereit und konnten genutzt werden. Gut war, dass die angegebene Kaution von 300 Euro nicht verlangt wurde. Blöd war, dass wir im Urlaub unnötigerweise jenes Geld mit uns herum schleppen mussten.

Auf Booking wird diese Unterkunft beworben mit "Die ganze Unterkunft gehört Ihnen". Dies stimmt einfach nicht. Das obere Stockwerk und ca. die Hälfte des unteren Stockwerkes gehören zu dieser Unterkunft, nicht aber das ganze Haus. Es gibt einen zweiten Eingang zu dem anderen Teil der unteren Wohnung, der durch die Garage führt. Wir hatten das Pech erst eine Mieterin im Haus zu haben, die nahezu jeden Abend Party in ihrer Wohnung machte und etliche Leute ein- und ausgingen. Dann folgte eine Mieterin, die sich nächtlich lautstark übergab. Die Wände waren leider auch sehr dünn. Zu behaupten, man würde das ganze Haus mieten ist hier leider schlichtweg Verbrauchertäuschung. Zudem gab es zwar zwei Rauchmelder, diese lagen aber einfach auf dem Tisch und waren nicht sachgerecht an der Decke montiert. Das ist einfach fahrlässig und geht gar nicht. Wir waren mit unserem Kind vor Ort und ich hatte nachts wirklich Angst, gerade mit solch feierwütigen Untermietern. Zudem wurde beworben, dass eine Waschmaschine vorhanden sei. Das Modell, welches wir bei unserer Ankunft vorfanden, war widerlich und eine Frechheit. Ein uraltes verrostetes Ding. Wir hatten Glück im Unglück, weil dieses wohl kaputt ging und dann zumindest gegen eine zwar gebrauchte, aber akzeptable Maschine getauscht wurde. Auch die Lüftung im Bad war leider stark verschmutzt. Die Ausstattung der Küche war leider miserabel (alte Töpfe und Pfannen, von denen sich die Beschichtung löste, abgestumpfte Messer, etc.). Kochen war für uns trotz guter Elektrogeräte (Backofen und Spülmaschine) leider kein Genuss. Insgesamt muss ich sagen leider mehr Schein als Sein.

Wir hatten sehr erholsame Tage in der Wohnung und kommen gerne wieder😍

Die Unterkunft ist gemütlich und super praktisch, auch mit Kleinkind. Man kann direkt vor der Tür parken und die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Es waren sogar Kindergeschirr, ein Hochstuhl usw. vor Ort. Besonders gut hat uns der Balkon gefallen. Auch der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin war super angenehm.☀️

Die Wohnung und die Terrasse sind toll. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage nahe am Wasser und an der Linie 3 in die Innenstadt sind super.
