The location was excellent, right in the centre of the old city, and the room had wonderful views. It had everything we needed and was very clean. Fresh towels were provided every day, and the communal areas were also cleaned daily. One thing that made the room especially comfortable was the air-conditioning, which worked perfectly throughout our stay. There was also a fridge in the room, which was very useful for keeping our water cold. The staff kindly provided us with a complimentary bottle of mineral water as well. We never met the staff in person, but we communicated easily through the booking app’s messaging platform. This was particularly helpful as we didn’t speak French and they didn’t speak English, but the app provided a translation option (at least on my phone), making communication very easy. The staff were very kind and always responded to our messages promptly. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay and would happily recommend this place.

One night around 3 a.m., male guests in the room opposite ours (we were two women) returned to the apartment shouting angrily, apparently with several other men, which woke us up and made us feel uncomfortable and concerned for our safety. The argument among them lasted for a long while. They had left by the next morning, and we informed the staff, who said they would investigate. It seemed like an isolated incident and was not the hotel’s fault, but I think it’s worth mentioning from a security perspective.

Amazing location, views, hot tub, nice guys running the place. It’s a funky set up but once you climb up there (three very steep flights of stairs to get to the penthouse) you won’t want to leave!

The steps were challenging but it made the arrival in the room all the more satisfying.

After the lengthy and rather authoritarian instructions I received beforehand about staying at the property and all the rules, I was pleasantly surprised to find my room furnished with a very comfortable double bed (with plump cushions), a wardrobe space, a television affixed to the wall, a small fridge, a desk and chair, and an electric jug with coffee sachets, sugar and paper cups. The quality and quantity of towels which were replenished daily with fresh ones if needed was really impressive. A large bottle of water being provided on arrival was another thoughtful gesture. The most appealing feature of all was the stunning view of the estuary and limestone cliffs from my window which could be fully opened to let in fresh air, sunshine and natural light. I am not sure if I was allocated the best room in the house (JFDL 2) by a lovely coincidence, but I could have spent all day watching the boats sailing in the turquoise waters far below from my high window - a beautiful scene.

The stairs are daunting - not only are they steep, they are narrow as well. I even had people passing by in the street watching me as I carefully climbed them! One suggestion for improvement would be to install a towel rail or hooks on the back of the bedroom door as there is nowhere to hang towels. I stayed 3 nights and on two of these, it was quite noisy until late at night with techno music blaring out from one of bars/ restaurants to the right and loud motorbikes revving up in the carpark close by.

Location was ideal and the rooms were clean

The instructions were incredibly long and difficult to decipher. It would have been easier to receive instructions for only your assigned room but instead we received it for all the rooms. Some one also tried to aggressively open our bedroom door - we brought it up to the host who didn’t really acknowledge it. It did make the stay uncomfortable. Also we’re not allowed to eat on the property - although there’s a fully equipped kitchen. We had food we wanted to warm up for dinner but we’re not allowed to use the kitchen or eat in the space. It was bizarre. If you’re leaving from the port be mindful of steep stairs (in addition to the stairs at the bnb) Wifi only works in common area Overall it wasn’t a welcoming accommodation- stay only for location- don’t expect anything else
