Gli host erano molto gentili e premurosi, l'appartamento nuovo, pulito e confortevole! Le lenzuola soprattutto erano profumatissime. Il paese è piccolo e silenzioso di notte. La climatizzazione è eccellente.
Il lampadario grande della cucina non funzionava, mancavano le luci e la cappa aspiratrice dai fornelli. Il lavandino è un po' piccolo, ma sono cose di poco conto. Il problema maggiore è che il paese è piccolo e poco collegato e non ci sono supermercati nelle vicinanze, ma questo non dipende certo dall'appartamento. Altro problema intrinseco di Gornij Karin, il vento fortissimo molto frequente.

Fijn appartement, schoon en met goede airco. De eigenares was vriendelijk en de locatie is fijn! Mooie rivieren en een strand in de omgeving.
De lamp in de woonkamer deed het niet en het was fijn geweest als er wat douchegel in de badkamer zou staan. Verder alles naar wens!

My husband, our six-year-old daughter, and I booked the 'orange' apartment (on the 2. level) for 8 days/7 nights because of its appearance, sea view, and air conditioning (AC). The view from the apartment is beautiful, especially at sunset, which is stunning. The apartment is quite close to the beach, with the nearest one around 800m away. The furniture is of good quality and looks brand new. The bathroom is comfortable (except for the sink) and looks nice. There are four small grocery stores near the apartment, but unfortunately, they are quite expensive given the limited variety and quality of their products. There is a small pizzeria called Pizzicato nearby, and their wood-fired pizzas are indeed unforgettable. The view of the mountains from the main beach of Gornji Karin is amazing. However, the water is clear during the mornings only (in the afternoon, it looks muddy), and, unfortunately, there is always grass in the water.
The apartment is smaller than it appears in the photos (and indicated), and it has some downsides:
The 'bedroom' is actually the anteroom of the apartment. The 'soundproofing' does not exist; when the neighbours talk or take a shower, it sounds like they are in your apartment. There is enough storage space in the bedroom, but the bed is too short (recommended for people under 175 cm). The poor-quality TV is behind the door (!) with very few channels. The fridge is tiny and in the worst possible place (it cannot be opened because of the chair at the table); it is of poor quality and not a built-in type, which causes it to ice up continuously. The stove is slow and small and unable to cook anything properly, but there are limited places to eat nearby. There is a plug (the only one) above the stove! Overall, everything could be acceptable if the host were friendlier (see the happenings below)!
This was the worst experience we have ever had with a host (Lucija), although we have travelled around the world for almost 30 years (from Japan to Mexico) and visited Croatia dozens of times (from Zambratija to Dubrovnik). Additionally, we were superhosts for many years (running luxury apartments) in Budapest Downtown. Almost no amenities were prepared (3 people/8 days): 1 trash bag, 2 toilet paper (+1 after several requests), very little liquid soap (1,5 cm in the container), and no refills at all. There was no hairdryer, iron, mop, toaster, microwave, or mosquito net at all, and the kitchen was very poorly equipped (e.g. limited dinner sets and dishes). We only became aware of the house rules upon arrival (the host did not inform us in advance about these, nor were they included in the apartment's T&C on Booking.com!), which stipulate that you must turn the AC off when you are out. However, the apartment gets hot in the meantime! We suffer from the lack of fresh air and the high temperature in the flat, which is why we chose this apartment with no restrictions on AC usage (in theory)! We informed Lucija, but she entered the flat to switch it off without warning, except for the written house rules. Why should the AC be stopped?! It is designed for continuous operation, and the frequent on-off switching causes unstable operation with lots of peaks due to the need for the highest fan speed and lowest temperature to maintain the same indoor temperature as before. Because the rules said so! This way of AC-running is disadvantageous from an economic viewpoint and shortens its operational life. If she were green, it would be better to let AC run stably and move its outdoor part where it can get fresh air rather than hiding it behind the wall and using only the hot air that comes from its own operation. We have never experienced such unfriendliness!
