The Boathouse

WOW!!!! What an amazing property, managed by amazing people. Having had a hectic journey into London, Boathouse did everything possible to keep my check-in experience smooth. The decor, cleanliness, and size of the space were impeccable. I genuinely could not have asked for anything better, and I cannot wait to book this luxurious getaway again.

Excellent location, close to both the Paddington and Edgware Tube stations, and scenic 15 minute walk to Little Venice along the canal. We only had to walk 20 minutes along the canal to a great gastropub in Maida Vale one night. Small grocery stores (Tesco and M&S) nearby. The barge has a cute interior, good cooking facilities for making breakfast, and a nice area to have an afternoon drink up top. Staff were friendly and very responsive to our requests.

The bathroom is cute, but there is nowhere in the shower or tub to put toiletries. There's not enough storage area for clothes. Adding some hooks would solve that. Surrounded by condos so not much privacy (usually had to keep the blinds most of the way down). Loud, because sound carries over the water and bounces off the condos -- had to wear earplugs most nights. There are fans inside the barge but no air conditioning, so be prepared if there is a heat wave. The loose railing going up to the roof also needs to be fixed, and there is a bolt sticking out of it which is a safety hazard.

Unique property to stay in in London in a good location. Surprisingly quiet overnight because the whole quayside is locked and private overnight. Great experience

Great location. Unique property - it felt a bit 'worn in' and generally just OK, especially given the price tag. I was certainly grateful to have my own space, however, it would have been helpful to know a bit more about the property in advance... everything worked (more or less) though it wasn't the sanctuary/escape I was hoping for (especially when the park deputies come to pump the water out or whatever they do at 7:00AM ON A TUESDAY... Oy...). Will I go back? Prob not for an overnight, though great venue for a daytime affair.

Things were a bit worn down - lights broken or missing, the 'fireplace' is essentially a follie (and a potential toe-stubber). Water pressure and temp was actually quite good, though the toilet was a bit of a chore to use effectively (as was the tub - 30 mins to fill up and another 30 mins to drain/pump out) ... bathroom floor is freezing... bedroom was way too warm... I figured it out tho, so, at least I slept on the last day.
