Or the endless decks, from which you’ll enjoy the most stunning sunsets of your life? Perhaps the breezy little hammock nook where you’ll fall asleep gazing out across the Caribbean Sea? Like we said, it’s hard to choose.
Staying at Altagracia is like making a new friend, one of those who you feel like you’ve known for years, even if it’s only been a few days. Walking in the front door, you’ll feel immediately at home, surrounded by comfortable furniture and island charm. The four bedroom suites are private and plush, and they can accommodate up to eight guests. We were very happy with the accommodations at Altagracia. The beds and other furniture were comfy, which is always key for me - good sleep is essential for a restorative vacation.The home was well stocked with a BBQ grill plus all the kitchen tools, cookware and dishes we needed. There were also towels for the shower and beach, plus extra sunscreen and bug spray left behind from prior visitors. The pool was large enough for 7 people to enjoy at once without feeling overcrowded. We really liked the unusual floor plan, which worked great for us: 2 families, occupying 2 bedrooms each. There was just 1 primary bedroom and bathroom connected to the main living space. The other 3 bedrooms were accessible from the exterior, connected by decks and stairs. It provided a little more privacy and quiet that way.The short 5 minute drive to town was also a plus. It was really nice to be nearby but not in the fray. It also felt a little cooler to be elevated on the hill. (It was toasty and humid in June. We were grateful for fans in the rooms, and air conditioning that worked well.) Finally, we absolutely loved the views. It was relaxing to watch the ferries come and go, day and night. This is a gorgeous property that feels well maintained. It's a trek getting to USVI from California, but we had a wonderful time. If we ever return to St John, we'd happily stay here again.

It accommodated our needs and provided plenty of room to spread out and enjoy individual spaces and common areas with comfort. This vacation rental exceeded our expectations...it was everything as advertised and so much more. The location was perfect to enjoy all the celebration activities, restaurants and grocery stores...will need to rent a vehicle or use a taxi. Thank you so much...we’ll be back!!!

The Villa is beautiful and the view more spectacular than the photos online. Plenty of space. Quick drive to Cruz bay and shopping which was nice since we were a party of eight (4 teens). I have a few recommendations:
1) The home could benefit from some solar shades as the living room/kitchen area is not air conditioned. Since the home is facing west the breeze was minimal and the sun was hot and direct. We asked for an extra fan and Catered To had one dropped off.
2) The dishwasher was broken on arrival. On vacation with 8 people made for a lot of dish washing. Kind of inconvenient. A gift card or credit of some sort would have been appreciated.
3) The upper master bedroom bathrooms were not very private. The walls around the bathroom did not meet the ceiling..a space of 2-3 feet. One of the master baths did not have a door. Only a shower curtain. Again, uncomfortable and not private at all.
4) We had an issue with the sliding doors sticking shut. It was repaired the same day that we called to report it.
5) One of the bedrooms downstairs has an air conditioner that leaked. Creating puddles.
The pool area was gorgeous, and the pool was large in terms of Villa pool sizes on St John. The landscaping was amazing as well...beautiful flowers, many birds (including hummingbirds).
