The property was clean and very comfortable. Lots of stylish features and everything you need for your stay. Great location and ideal for getting around Tavira and other places too as it’s close to both N125 and A22.

The flat is very spacious, split level and beautifully decorated and furnished. The photos on Booking.com really don't do it justice - it's an extremely comfortable, and pleasant place to stay in, both smart and homely. There are 2 bathrooms - an ensuite with shower, and a cloakroom downstairs. It's also within easy walking distance of the centre of Tavira (there are public stairs leading to the town - 120 steps altogether which wasn't at all a problem for us, but worth bearing in mind if you have mobility or health issues). Parking was easy - right outside the property, on a quiet residential street. The owner lives in a separate flat downstairs and was user-friendly - helpful when needed but otherwise very much respected our privacy.

A small thing but one that would be useful - an explanation of what the different recycling coloured bins mean (we found it online readily enough but some info in the home info pack would have been useful - as would where the recycling and waste bins are, as they are in two different places; nearby but not obvious. The only significant issue for us was a house rule not to have the air conditioning on after midnight (as apparently it can disturb the neighbours). The bedroom was quite hot and so this slightly affected our sleep. We only ever book properties which advertise air con precisely because we like to know we can cool the bedroom down at night if needed - so not having this was a surprise, and the only negative in an otherwise fabulous property.

The apartment is spacious, quiet, and pleasant. It is a short walk to the center of Tavira, but also easy to access by car. The balcony overlooking the river is nice, and pleasant to sit on, although there is a bit of car and train noise from nearby bridges. We didn't interact much with the host, but that was fine with us. He lives in the bottom floor of the property, while the rental is the top two floors (bedroom and bath on the top floor, kitchen, living room and balcony on the middle floor). There is one outside door, and each apartment has its own (lockable) door from the entry area.

A minor complaint - an explanation of recycling categories, and a little map showing where the garbage, recycling, and organic waste receptacles are would have been helpful. But perhaps we were expected to just put everything in the garbage... The organic waste receptacles was near the apartment, heading east on the road. Glass, packaging, paper, and general garbage were west, a little farther away around the end of the apartment complex. Neither are that far, but we had to find them.
