Great stay in an unusual home

Quite an unusual place; a charming, old suburban house with the dining and living room filled with furniture from the 1920s(?) and massive collection of trinkets,, photos, icons and all sorts of chachkies. The bedrooms were large and airconditioned, the porch and terrace/balcony were lovely, kitchen was large and bathrooms clean. Despite the very late arrival of my plane the hostess, Anastasia, was waiting with the keys. It is 10 mins walk to Edem beach, 25 mins bus ride (A2) and 28 mins tram ride to Syntagma Square. Plenty of stores, cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood. If I come to Athens again I would be happy to stay again at Casa Oliver.

This is a problem common to all of Greece - poor sewage system, so one cannot flush toilet tissue but must place it in a garbage bag.

Nothing to complain at all. The place fully exceeded all our expectations..Truly value for money!!

This was our first time in Greece and what an amazing experience!! The house is an independent place which is very well connected to public transport, taxis are on demand and a boulangerie, convenience store a few steps away. ATMs & walk to the sea-shore are about 200m. Taxis cost you anywhere between 3 to 5 Euros to reach some very good eating joints next to the sea-shore (also walkable) and about 12-16 Euros/15-20 mins to reach the Athens Parliament building area from where you can see all the beauty of Athens (shopping areas, Acropolis, Old town (called Plaka), first olympic stadium etc...). Hop-in hop off tours also are available from here. The house clearly was a fully functional family house ( has a healthy mix of modern & contemporary decor) prior to opening up for booking.com, so fully furnished, fully equipped kitchen & can very easily accommodate 7 adults on the first floor of this independent house, with one Shared toilet, wash basin & bath tub for the 3 independent rooms on the first floor & a living room, dining areas and kitchen with a WC on the ground floor. All this, also with a small area around the house & a spacious balcony connecting 2 of the first floor rooms. Last but not the least by no means.. The hosts are fantastic!! Thanks to Anastasia and her wonderful father, they were always available for any queries or advise. Infact, they have even sent by post a mobile charger that we forgot at their place.. Very very likeable personalities, and we all would love to go back to this wonderful home.

Nothing to complain at all. The place fully met & exceeded all our expectations..truly value for money..

Vi är väldigt nöjda med både boende och husvärden. Fräscht och nära till allt vi behövde.

Läget, fint och lugnt område, nära till havet och kollektivtrafik. Mysigt och trevligt hus. Husvärden var trevlig och tillgänglig.

Sängarna var lite för hårda och samtliga saknade bäddmadrass. Bara en dusch, lite lite på 7 personer.

Authentische geräumige Villa in Laufnähe zum Strand

Es ist ein sehr geräumiges Haus/Villa, mit drei großzügigen Schlafzimmern, Terasse, Balkon und nah am öffentlichen Strand gelegen (600m). Die Straße ist ruhig und in der Nähe ist ein Mini-Supermarkt. Es befindet sich eine Klimaanlage in jedem Schlafzimmer und die Schlüsselübergabe war unkompliziert. Es gibt ein Bad mit Wannendusche und eine separate Toilette. ÖPNV ist mit Tram und Bus in der Nähe. Es war alles sauber. Was allerdings Geschmackssache ist: Das Mobiliar ist antik, das Wohnzimmer recht dunkel, auch die Küche in die Jahre gekommen. Uns hat es nicht gestört bzw. wir fanden das authentisch. Wir haben es auch primär zum Schlafen genutzt, waren sonst nicht viel im Haus und wollten dort nicht kochen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen super Aufenthalt.

Super séjour, hôte très accueillante, tout à proximité, on a bien profité d'Athènes

Très belle maison, bien située avec accès facile à la plage et au centre ville en transports en commun. On a mangé des citrons du jardin! Notre hôte a fourni du pain à notre arrivée, il y avait des capsules pour la machine à café, des serviettes propres à mi-séjour - tout pour rendre notre séjour très comfortable

La maison est située sur une rue très calme, mais une des chambres se donne sur une rue un peu bruyante (voitures/motos).

Erg gezellig!

De locatie is super, alles is vlakbij (winkels, restaurants, openbaar vervoer, etc). Het was er heel netjes, goed gepoetst. De bedden waren opgemaakt en de kwaliteit van de matrassen zeer goed. Handdoeken en zeep ter beschikking. Ook de keuken is goed voorzien. Overdracht van de sleutels ging vlot. Wel miste ik richtlijnen over de wasmachine. Er is een wasmachine, maar de afvoer van het water was niet aangesloten. Dat was even zoeken hoe we dat moesten oplossen. We hadden maar voor 4 personen geboekt en kregen dan ook maar 2 kamers ter beschikking. Dat was ook jammer. Maar verder is het een charmant huis, van alle comfort voorzien. De host reageerde snel bij vragen. We hebben, voor een vroege transfer naar de luchthaven, gebruik gemaakt van de taxi van Nikos. De host raadde hem aan en hij bleek ook zeer betrouwbaar en erg stipt. Fijn!

Мы забронировали другие аппартаменты. Но там обвалился потолок в день нашего прилета. И служба поддержки оперативно помогла нам найти другое жилье. Дом превзошел наши ожидания. Это было больше похоже на музей или средневековый замок! Открыв старинные ворота мы попали в немного заброшенный сад... Это было похоже на кино. За спиной шумел современный мир, машины неслись по своим делам, а мы как будто попали в другое измерение... На первом этаже прекрасного старинного дома все стены увешаны картинами, на витринах множество стареньких милых предметов, фигурок, посуды... Все это создавало странное ощущение безвременья...так как все предметы были слегка перемешаны по стилю и по назначению.... маски, египетские папирусы, куклы, бокалы... множество декоративных тарелок.... глаза разбегались.... Очень много нужных приправ на кухне и оливковое масло ,и сахар и соль, и чай и даже кофейные капсулы!! Большое спасибо за 4 бутылки охлажденной воды!! Это было здорово с дороги!!! Прекрасный широкий балкон на втором этаже, В доме может разместиться большая компания. Хозяйка нас ждала, (мы очень долго ехали на такси от аэропорта), передала ключи и показала дом. Дом совсем недалеко от городского пляжа. В жару нас это спасло. От центра дом находится в 35 минутах езды на трамвае. Почти все трамваи идут в центр до площади Синтагма. Напротив аппартаментов замечательная таверна. Самое вкусное, что мы ели в Афинах -это здесь. напротив дома. Особенно, рыба на гриле!!! Фантастика!! Это был интересный опыт пожить в таком доме в Афинах! Большое спасибо!

Ворота, к сожалению, было очень трудно открывать и закрывать. Они нуждаются в ремонте. Так же и на кухне , наверное, было бы неплохо иметь более современную плиту. Левая комфорка не рабочая.Трудно регулировать силу нагрева. Руку надо проносить над плитой и регулировать на стенке . На втором этаже что-то непонятное с дверью туалета. Дверь ездит как в поезде , но не закрывается. Все время боялись, что она просто упадет и придется потом платить за сломанную дверь. Матрасы на двухярусной кровати, наверху особенно , наверное, не новые. Дети жаловались на выпирающие пружины. Когда открываешь ящики на кухне, то пахнет затхлостью. Как старый комод. Большой дом для большого количества людей, но маленькая сковородка . Может быть , мы не нашли. В доме очень много предметов декора. Слишком много. Мы боялись что-то разбить, случайно задеть.
