Very nice large apartment. We were in three and staying ten days. Excellent and the owners very very nice.Only complain is that the electricity to run the A/Cis very expensive and we had to pay for the usage but was clear in the contract. However was disappointed that the house provided one set of towels for person and we had to pay extra for few extra towels.

Conveniently located in quiet and beautiful Cannaregio, this quite luxurious apartment was strangely let down by the cutlery which was all falling apart. Also there were a few quirks. While we shouldn't expect our hosts to speak English, it would have helped if they were prepared to converse using Google translate. Then we could have questioned why we were charged 112 euros city taxes rather than the expected 100 (4 people x 5 nights @ 5euros per night) and why two visual forms of identity were required - they were expecting us to have our driving licences - in Venice! It would also have been appropriate for us to have been privy to the meter readings to know what kwhs we had actually used. Overall we really enjoyed staying there and would recommend it for a family or small group of friends especially if these small wrinkles could be ironed out.

Everything about our stay at this apartment was wonderful except for the surprise charges for electricity at the end of our visit. The apartment itself is spacious, well-appointed, immaculate and in an ideal position - away from crowds but close to vaporetto stops and grocery/bakery shops. Our hosts were welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic. The surprise cost came at the very end. A deposit of 300 Euros was required with costs of cleaning included. That much was expected. What we didn't expect was the cost of electricity in kilowatt hours. A deposit is usually a hedge against damages but renting a property then charging for lights and heat, etc. is a little like selling a car then asking the buyer if they want wheels with it. If your company is concerned about the costs of electricity, it might be a better (and more welcoming) idea to include a reasonable and basic amount of electrical usage in the initial fee. If the client uses excessive power (too many showers or uses of the dishwasher, say), it would be reasonable to expect an extra fee. We have stayed in VRBO places many times in Italy but have never been charged for our use of electricity. We were very impressed by this apartment in every other way but felt blindsided by this extra cost. We realize that it IS in the initial contract but were not expecting that when we rented the place, something basic like light and heat would be extra.

I often was in Venice but I never had before such a clean, comfortable, quiet and lovely home. Meeting the owner Lucia was a special pleasure, we did understand each other talking with hand and feet. If ever I would travel again with 5 friends I would try to stay in her house again.
