About this villa rental
Maximum sleeping 14 people:
Rooms: 6 rooms for 12 people. (5 with double beds and 1 with 2 beds)
Large living room with fitted American kitchen: plates, cutlery, glasses, kitchen utensils, dishwasher, toaster, oven, Nespresso coffee machine, draft beer machine, microwave, grill, fridge / freezer, plancha outside, 2 barbecues, washing machine, dryer.
There is also a fireplace in the living room.
Our 200 m2 villa, completely renovated in 2018, is located in Cap-Ferret (Piraillan) on a 900 m2 enclosed wooded plot with heated swimming pool comprising living room with fireplace, American kitchen, six bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
The area is very residential and very quiet.
The house is quietly located in Piraillan, 80 meters from the beach and 100 meters from the oyster port.
The market and shops are 5 minutes walk!
Access to the ocean is direct after a few minutes on foot or by bike in the forest.
The decoration of the house perfectly illustrates the spirit of Cap-Ferret.

Ground floor: 1 bedroom with 160 cm double bed (Simmons new bedding) 1 bedroom with 2 90 cm beds (Simmons new bedding) + 2 shower rooms + 1 WC
Upstairs: 4 bedrooms with large 160 cm beds (Simmons new bedding) + 3 shower rooms and 1 bathroom + 1 WC.
The villa also has a sofa bed in one of the large bedrooms (in addition to the large bed).
Sheets, towels and household linen are provided.

The locality
Piraillan is one of the many small villages that follow one another and make up the Cap Ferret peninsula. Just a few minutes from the tip, the place is really nice, and often less crowded than the center. The prettiest and most typical part is probably the port and its original and colorful oyster tastings, at the water's edge, as well as the fishing village district.
The cabins are adorable, and the visit often has surprises in store: funny decorations, cat at the bend of a path, two abandoned horses ...
In the more urbanized part, we find all the useful small shops, and especially the big market place, which takes place every week. A pretty nature reserve, opposite the port, is also worth the detour: many species of animals are listed there, and the walk is pleasant and refreshing on hot days. A pretty village where you can stop for a picnic, for example, before leaving for the ocean!

Hubert & Anne were very welcoming on our arrival from London. They showed us around their lovely home explaining how to operate the pool etc. We had our 3 & 5 year old grandchildren from LA staying with us and the amount of toys and activities for them to play with was truly amazing and a real life saver. The home had every thing to make our stay very comfortable and the ability to eat at home. Thank you.

There were 9 of us aged 7 - 72. The well designed villa included a kitchen to envy. Efficient aircon guaranteed a good night's sleep. The pool and deck were perfect for us. The 5 children spent hours in the water and served us soft drinks and nibbles from the pool bar - great fun!And Nana always found a shady spot near to the fun in the sun.Location wise - just an hour out of Bordeaux - there was something for everyone - either to walk to or a short drive. Calm waves to walk to on one side of the peninsula, golden beaches and rolling waves just a 5 minute drive on the other (the beach is supervised).Some of us bodyboarded, skimboarded, paddleboarded, while others just swam and played in the surf. Cycling and fishing was easy to organise. Food wise - we walked every morning to get our breakfast baguettes and pastries. And the produce market - 10 minutes walk away - had everything we could imagine and more - high quality fruit, vegetables, cheeses, fish, meats etc etc. Quite expensive, but great value.We didn't eat out but the nearby oyster bars were tempting!

We had a lovely family holiday in this beautiful house. Extremely well equipped which lacked nothing. Perfect location, near market, shops and beaches. Very clean with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. We wished there were more than two toilets for the 13 of us, which is our only criticism.

We used this property for our family gathering to celebrate a special birthday. It worked very well for us as the rooms were large and the beds comfortable, with plenty of communal space. The weather was excellent and we almost always ate at the large table outside. There is a sunken seating area that we enjoyed using for sun lounging and as a place to sit around and chat over evening drinks. We had been a bit concerned that the pool might be a bit small, but in the end we found it perfectly adequate and the children all enjoyed it to the full. As far as location goes, the house is a couple of blocks from the main road and a couple of minutes walk from the harbour where we bought our seafood. We hired good quality bikes at surprisingly reasonable prices from a shop beside the market square in the village, although other things in the area (like food) were nightmarishly expensive. We tried several beaches on the Atlantic side, but in reality there was no difference between them because the sand is uniformly incredible for miles to the north and south. On the bay side, we could easily access the beach on foot from the house.
Overall this is an excellent house in a good location and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a place to hold a family gathering or similar get-together, in very pleasant surroundings.
