The property is well-situated with wonderful views and nice walking path options in the area. That said, there are some improvements that could be made and a few things possible renters should be aware of: -- The person in charge of welcoming us was not available when we arrived at 5pm as she worked from 5-9pm elsewhere. With no prior instructions of where to park and access the gite, we were on our own to figure things out. We succeeded in locating the gite and gain access but were quickly confronted by unhappy neighbors because we parked on their property. A similar run-in occurred during our stay when we tried to locate an outside faucet since there was a heatwave. When we located one and used it, we were scolded by the local contact as it didn't belong to our gite. These things could have been avoided with more explicit instructions beforehand describing where to park, what part of the property belongs to the gite, etc. -- There was a huge infestation of flies and other flying bugs inside the gite, especially the kitchen. Given the quantity of anti-fly products we found already in the gite, previous renters must have faced similar problems. Despite our best efforts, there remained throughout our stay a constant swarm of flies in the kitchen area. -- There is a large patio area on the north side of the gite that is pretty much the only place to gather when the weather is warm. Inside, the large window in the living room does not open nor does it have drapes, so the heat is tremendous like in a greenhouse. The patio has no natural shade nor awning or other covering. We found one broken patio umbrella that we tried to use, but the wind made it difficult. One idea would be to install a shade sail (une voile d'ombrage) that would allow use of the patio throughout the day even when there is wind. -- Finally, despite a wonderful contact with the owner prior to arrival (who does not live near the gite), we found the interactions with the local person difficult. Her tone and demeanor were not what you would expect from someone in charge of welcoming guests. Her manner of scolding us for using an outdoor faucet that wasn't part of the gite was highly unprofessional and rude. When discussing our departure, she indicated that she had to work from 9am to 2pm, and would have liked to come before 9am to process the departure. We stated firmly we would leave by the time stated in the contract but not before 9am.

This is the perfect place to find rest, very quiet, great view over the valley, wonderful night sky. Ideal for hiking and biking. A birder's paradise. Nicole is very friendly. Only drawback: there are frequent water cuts. Better to have some bottles in stock.
