Spacious & elegant three-bedroom apartment near Sorrento
Casa Dorotea is a spacious and elegant apartment situated in a tranquil area but only a few minutes from local amenities and public transport. Casa Dorotea is approximately 180 metres squared and can sleep up to 7 people in 3 bedrooms. It features a private garden, a private terrace, a private patio, air conditioning and winter heating and Wi-Fi Internet access. The cost of the electricity is included in the price.
Casa Dorotea is located on the first floor and is one of three apartments in the block. It is accessible from the garden via an external staircase with approximately 20 steps. There is air conditioning in all three bedrooms and also throughout the house – the lounge and dining area.
The lounge is paved with characteristic terracotta tiles. The modern furnishings are stylish and comfortable. There are two large sofas and a satellite television and air conditioning. An extra bed can be added in the lounge (on request and extra charges may apply). The room has two windows with a view of the garden and the terrace. The dining room is accessible from the lounge room and has a dining table, which can accommodate 6 guests, and air conditioning.
Leading off the dining room is the recently refurbished kitchen. It is well equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with a freezer, a dishwasher and an Italian-style coffee maker and air conditioning. The kitchen has a window with a view of the garden. Next to the kitchen, there is a small, partially covered terrace where there is a washing machine.
You can access the beautiful ensuite bedroom from the living room. The bedroom has a double bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The room has a window with a view of the private patio below the villa and a private garden with homegrown vegetables. The bedroom is equipped with a TV and air conditioning/heating. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a flat-screen TV, a toilet and a bathtub with shower and a Jacuzzi. You can even watch the television whilst you enjoy a hydro-massage!
You can access the second bedroom from the corridor. It has twin beds (80 cm/32 inches) and a view of the garden. The bedroom is equipped with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning/heating. The bathroom has a washbasin, a toilet, a fully enclosed shower and a hairdryer. It is accessible from the corridor. There is a French window which gives access to the terrace, facing the garden.
The terrace is 40 metres squared and is accessible from the lounge through sliding French doors. It is equipped with a table, chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ. From the terrace, you will have a view of the garden below and of the other buildings in the surrounding area but you will have your own privacy. Here you can relax with a drink and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
There is a third bathroom with a wash basin and a toilet. At the end of the corridor, there is a third bedroom, which also has a view of the garden. This is a double room but the beds can be separate to make it a twin. The bedroom is equipped with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning/heating.
The private garden is 400 metres squared and is partly shaded by tall palm and lemon trees. It has sun loungers where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine. Next to the garden is the private patio which is furnished with tables and chairs and covered to provide shade.
While staying at Casa Dorotea, you will be in the seventeenth-century historic centre of Meta di Sorrento. The closest restaurant and a grocery store are a few minutes' walk away. Casa Dorotea is approximately 5 minutes' walk from the train station where, in two stops, you will be in Sorrento. From this station, you can also easily visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples. From Sorrento's train station, it is approximately 15 minutes' walk to Marina Piccola (port) where you can get the ferry to Capri. From Sorrento's train station you can also get buses to Positano and Amalfi Coast. The closest beach is roughly 800 metres (half a mile) from Casa Dorotea.

A Perfect Italian Stay!Our stay at this beautiful Meta home was absolutely unforgettable. The home itself is the quintessential Italian home-charming, comfortable, full of character. It’s centrally located, just a short walk to the train station making it easy to explore.What truly made our stay special was the incredible family who owned the home. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even having a cooking class that is one of our favorite memories from the trip. The hospitality, warmth and attention to detail were unmatched.If you are looking for an authentic experience that captures the heart of the Amalfi Coast, stay here. We can’t recommend it enough.

We stayed at Casa Dorotea May 20-26. It was a wonderful property and Lorenza was a fabulous host. We arrived late evening and she met us and helped us get settled. She and her family have lived at Casa Dorotea for generations and the property was very well cared for. She gave us restaurant recommendations and tips on how to get to Sorrento which was 4 miles away (like taking the train vs. the bus). We absolutely loved the patio and would spend our nights sitting outside taking in the views and talking about our day and planning our next. In the morning, we would wake up to the birds singing sweet songs to us, and we enjoyed the smell of the flowers and lemons as we would sip our coffee on the patio. Overall, one of the most fabulous places we've ever stayed at and hope to be able to vacation there again!! Dave and Kristi Laufenberg

We are experienced travelers and booked this property for several weeks.
We thought we had done our VRBO homework.. listing pictures and previous customer reviews.
On a positive note the property location and AC are great.
However there were several challenges.
The internet support was non existent, marginal at best despite the owners attempt to improve service.
At check in we were instructed by the owner not to use the kitchen range due to gas odor if turned on.
We were further instructed to only cook food in the microwave which was outdated and certainly needs to be replaced. Very disappointing.
The master bedroom was rendered unusable throughout our stay due to ants in the bed despite several attempts to fix the problem. Fortunately there were other bedrooms to access.
The ant issue was not only confined to the master suite, it was throughout the home.
There are no sunshades on the SW side of the property which rendered the dining room and patio unusable for several hours into the evening.
We enjoyed our home cooked Italian dinner sitting in the family room.
