This place was amazing. If I had to complain about anything, and these complaints wouldn't stop me from renting these cabins again, I'd say I didn't care for the shower. It comes down directly from the ceiling and you have to reach through the water to set the water temperature. It's not a big deal, but it might be to some people. We were lucky enough to have half of our stay by ourselves. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the evenings.

It was very peaceful, serene, and beautiful location to unplug and relax. It was just my 3 yr old Doodle and I and I enjoyed him getting to spend a lot of tome outdoors and exploring! The owners and staff were very knowledgeable of the area and extremely helpful and accommodating!

I went for solitude and calm for me and my dog. It was heaven! The cabin was welcoming and perfect. Had everything listed. The property it is on was larger then I thought. My dog loved running around and chasing squirrels. The creek added to the calm with its slow flow. It was refreshing on the warm days. It was hard to leave.

We stayed at the Liberty Cabin for 10 amazing nights! From the abundance of nightly fireflies to the relaxing sounds of the creek, this was the most calming vacation we've had in years!! We did about everything there was to do within an hour's radius. It was so nice to come back from a busy day and feel instantaneously at peace. We looked at properties for sale because we enjoyed our time so much but nothing came close to what this property has to offer. The grounds were kept very tidy and clean and housekeeping always checked in to see if we needed anything. I did not catch her name but she was very hospitable and kind. This place brought our family closer together and for that I am grateful! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! 🙏

We rented both the Liberty and the Caddo cabins and they were great! Our dogs had the time of their lives!! They ran, jumped, frolicked & swam in the creek! As for the humans, we enjoyed looking for crystal rocks throughout the creek bed. The actual beds were comfy & there was good water pressure in the showers. Cabins were clean and had what we needed. Would rent again! Checked out the Mercantile in Caddo Gap, it was cool. We also drove to Hot Springs which was only about an hour away. Very Peaceful/fun trip!

Liberty Cabin had everything we needed for a great stay on Collier Creek. Third time we have stayed at the cabins and will definitely book again. Cabin was clean, well equipped, super comfy bed, and a wonderful setting for rest and relaxation. Thanks Scott and Sharon for another great time!!

Resting and relaxing was our purpose for this stay. We enjoyed ourselves from the time we arrived til our departure. Easy and quick check in. Cabin both inside and outside were accurately represented. The babbling brook sound of Collier Creek was just the ticket for unwinding and clearing the mind. A beautiful crane visited and feasted in the shallows of the creek several times during our stay. Owners were very accommodating and friendly, we enjoyed meeting them and their fur babies. We are already checking our calendar for another visit,, and we are keeping this cabin in mind for future gift giving ideas.

It was great getting to unplug and hang with the whole family all weekend. The kids ran wild and caught so many little crawfish and the dog was so exhausted he slept all day Sunday and Monday. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Wonderful property for all types. 3 cabins on one site ideal for large gatherings. We had a great time and so did our dog. We enjoy cooking on vacation and the second night the oven went out and Scott acted immediately and when it could not be fixed he replaced it. Great host and hostess. Thank you.

The place was beautiful and serene with amazing views! Scott was easy to reach even though we had zero problem and he even checked on us. My only “issue” which worked itself out because we really just go with the flow is the listing says sleeps 7 and that’s how many of us there were. There is only a queen size bed, two bunk beds, two couches and a cot. Partly my fault because looking back at the photos I realized what looks like a second room with other beds is actually just a view from the bathroom. One of my cousins slept on a recliner, one son on the smaller couch and the other got the cot. So just beware if you have picky sleepers or back issues you may look for a place with actual beds for everyone. Unless we’re expected two per person on the bunk bed. Unsure. If it had just been my husband, myself and our boys it would have been perfect. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves around the fire pit and drinking coffee on the back porch. Dinners and games at the big dining table. If you plan to cook other than on the grill bring some pots/pans.

Perfect Getaway!

This was the absolute perfect spot for us to have our baby moon! We were close to Hot Springs to cross that off our national park list and we were able to brings the dogs (who had SO much fun they slept the entire 12 hour ride home)!! The property was fabulous and my favorite day was when we lounged around the creek and the dogs got to play in the creek. We’ll likely be back here!!

Great experience with this property. The cabin was very clean and even had WiFi. Scott was a great host and very helpful. The creek is beautiful and we had lots of fun walking around and letting the girls pick rocks. It was a bit chilly so we couldn’t swim, but plan to go back in the summertime. Would definitely recommend.

Thanks to our host, the cabin was easy to find. Set up perfect for 2 people. So many things were already there for our use! Our favorite place was the porch. Coffee in the morning and wine at night! Couldn’t ask for a more picturesque view! Would highly recommend!

When we entered the cabin, one of the first things we noticed that the ac unit was just filthy. I couldn’t leave it so I cleaned it as best as I could. The kitchen light wouldn’t work, my husband changed the bulbs. The microwave is very old and small, it’s yellowed with age and won’t even pop popcorn. The wooden furniture was beyond dusty. I entered the other cabin next to ours and theirs was gorgeous up to date and beautiful! The creek was wonderful and our dogs loved this place. We couldn’t work the WiFi because the password given to me by email was wrong, our neighbor came over, tried the one he had and it worked. Also the land line phone is difficult to use due to the words on the buttons are worn off. I do not like to complain but I think more attention to this cabin is needed. Thank you!

We had a great time. The cabin is lovely, rustic. The water is clear, clean, and beautiful. We had an issue with the in cabin water initially (from the well), but our host took care of the issue shortly after I brought it to his attention. The Caddo River was fun - we drove over to Glenwood to tube the river. I would definitely visit again.

Awesome "rustic getaway" with all the comforts of home (and then some!!)

Looking for a "central point" between St. Louis and Central Texas for a family gathering, it was my daughters who did the research and found this getaway. For our family, it had everything we could want. The McGuire's have put a lot of thought into this property with front/back covered porches, trash bins, bath towels/kitchen needs, outdoor chairs and picnic tables, horseshoe pit, walking sticks, (the list could go on and on). When we visited, we rented the two cabins that were completed although there was a third cabin and "party barn' under construction. Our party consisted of my husband & myself in our 50's, and our kids (three couples all in their early to late 20's) and 2 granddaughters. Our four days were spent walking the creek to explore the various swim holes, and an entire afternoon hunting crawdads/mud bugs!. The only downside was that the last night there the area received torrential rains and the creek rose to within about 10 feet from the back porch. This in no way reflects upon the owners, who maintained constant contact with us, and absolutely would not deter me from staying here again and again. I only mention it so that you know to watch the creek if you're staying there and receive heavy rains. If you love a rustic getaway with the comforts of home this is your place. I highly recommend this property and just so we're clear, I have not received any compensation for this review. It truly is absolutely wonderful.

Private, peaceful and relaxing.

Liberty cabin was the perfect spot for these three sisters. We loved the quiet and peaceful location. Listening to the water flowing was relaxing. Our dogs were right at home. We grilled dinner near the creek bank, played horse shoes, searched for crystals (found a few) and enjoyed watching good (dvd) movies together. We day tripped to flea markets and antique stores in the area and we loved visiting the Gap Mercantile in Caddo Gap. The McGuires were wonderful hosts and we look forward to staying here again. The sooner the better.
