If you’re looking for the authentic cabin experience, look no further. This classic 1950s lake property sits among towering mature pines and offers privacy, comfort, and unforgettable lake views.

2-bedroom / ¾-bath main cabin
1-bedroom / 1-bath guest cabin
Free-standing sauna
Free-standing screen porch with the best view on the lake
Large platform dock
2018 Bennington pontoon boat (seasonal)
Purchased in 2017 and completely renovated, the main cabin features a small but efficient layout with two bedrooms (double beds), a cozy living room with a wood-burning fireplace, dining area with beautiful lake views, and a well-equipped kitchen with a 2-burner cooktop, microwave/convection oven, refrigerator, and single-bowl sink.
One of the highlights of the property is the free-standing screen porch, perfectly positioned to capture panoramic views of Lake O’Brien. It’s the ideal spot for morning coffee, evening cocktails, or simply soaking in the sights and sounds of the lake — rain or shine.
The indoor space flows seamlessly to an outdoor area with a fire pit and gas grill, making evenings under the stars easy and memorable.
Both the main cabin and guest cabin include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and HD TVs with local cable, so you can stay connected or catch the big game when you want to. On cooler nights, enjoy the free-standing sauna with electric heater — and don’t forget to cool off with a refreshing dip in the lake afterward.
Located just 5 miles east of Crosslake, spring-fed Lake O’Brien boasts exceptional water clarity (up to 24 feet), making it one of the cleanest lakes in the watershed. With roughly five miles of shoreline — including a large portion of undeveloped state-owned land — the lake is surrounded by pristine forest and mature pines.
In summer, Lake O’Brien is ideal for fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, or simply floating and relaxing. The quiet township road is also perfect for morning walks or bike rides.
The property comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests (strict limit due to cabin size), making it ideal for families or a few couples. Our calendar is kept up to date, and if you see availability, it’s likely open. After booking, you’ll receive a detailed what-to-bring list to help you prepare for your stay.
We take great pride in maintaining the property and all equipment in excellent condition, and we’re confident we’ll exceed your expectations. Since we also live on the same lake, we’re able to respond quickly should any questions or issues arise.
Your only disappointment will be having to leave.
Pontoon boat is typically available from mid-May through early October.

Kitchen had a lot of amenities - spices, tea, sugar, coffee, cleaning supplies which was very helpful. Cabin was very comfortable and the wood stove was very helpful during very cool evenings as the heating system was not very warm.The sitting was comfortable for evening.The screened in porch was very restful and a great place to read with a view.The dock was fun for spouse to fish off.

This is an updated old fashioned lake cabin. The separate guest cabin is nice for privacy. The added amenities of the pontoon and firewood makes this a real value rental.

We had a fantastic time. Clean cabin. Comfortable beds. Pontoon was a bonus amd all the bonfires. Woke to a dead car battery. Lindsey was very responsive. A special thanks to her kids who came out to help with a dead battery. Five star. Will definitely be back.
