About this cabin rental
Fully furnished vacation cottage, located on the lower Wisconsin Riverway. UNWIND by taking a short walk down our path to our private Wisconsin River shoreline. RELAX, have a seat and feel the calm of the river flowing while you enjoy a fire in the pit and take in the sunset. Pause by the pond fed by an artesian spring trickling over the rock ledges. Think deeply as you walk the labyrinth. Identify the species of birds in the sanctuary or catch a glimpse of eagles, white pelicans, geese, turtles, deer and much more. ENJOY the creation around you.
Originally, this cottage was an Army officer's barracks at Truax Field, Madison, WI during WWII. It was moved to this Wisconsin River location in the 1970s. A family lived here until it was renovated in 2006 as a vacation rental.

Nice place, well stocked with kitchen and cooking stuff, everything you need in the bathroom, and comfy beds and pillows. Location is great, nearby shopping and restaurants and right on the river for fishing. Highly recommend!

With college cycling national championships in Madison/Waterloo the same weekend as UW, had to find something a bit further away for my son and I to stay between his races. This ended up being perfect--quiet, nice kitchen for preparing big meals, beautiful view of the river, easy drives to the venues. Travis was a great host. And my son did great--10th and 3rd, so it even brought good luck.

The host was welcoming, the house is solid with the said amenities, and the backyard pathway to the river is beautiful.
