Upon my arrival at approximately 8:30 or 9 PM, I was informed during check-in that Zostel does not accommodate children. Mr. Dinesh, the front office representative, requested that I vacate the premises. I explained that I had already paid for my stay and reiterated that I was traveling with my wife and child, making it impossible to secure alternative accommodation in a remote area at that late hour. Following a discussion, the manager or front office staff ultimately honored my reservation, though the experience was disconcerting. I observed that the manager appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Despite these issues, the food provided was satisfactory.

Best experience to stay. Amazing views from the property. Just a recommendation please improve room door locking security. Rest highly recommend this stay.
    6.4 / 10Average·Sep 2026
The hostel itself is good, but the road conditions are very poor, and there are no proper facilities to reach the hostel. It is located at the top of Dharamkot, so you should be prepared for a mini trek, especially since the roads are broken and difficult to access. I would recommend this hostel only if you are looking to relax and spend most of your time at the property. Going outside can be inconvenient because of the poor road conditions. Another major issue is the lack of a designated smoking area. People smoke openly in different areas of the hostel, and there is a constant smell of cigarette smoke, which can be very uncomfortable for non-smokers.
