In short… Everything!
The Dorm, the facilities, supplies and back-up, location and especially cleanliness, all topped the rankings.
Special mention to the behaviour of staff and their helpful nature.
A few upcoming renovations are a bit distracting. However they don’t directly affect the experience.

Found my happy place in Upper Bhagsu! Loopin.Mcleodganj has that perfect mix of a chilled-out community vibe and views that’ll make you never want to leave. It’s tucked away enough to be peaceful but close enough to the action. Super clean, great energy, and easily the best spot to base yourself for a few days (or weeks!).
The only thing that I didn't like was leaving. If you want to meet fellow travelers and share stories over coffee, you’ll struggle to find a better atmosphere in Mcleodganj. It’s hard to leave once you’ve settled into the rhythm here.

One of the best community hostels I have stayed at in McLeod Ganj. The networking opportunities were great because travelers naturally interacted in the common spaces, especially around the pool table and kitchen. The pickleball court was a unique and fun addition.

The stay was truly exceptional. Banna is an outstanding host who goes above and beyond to make sure you leave with wonderful memories. Every amenity is top-notch and thoughtfully maintained. What I loved the most, though, is the location of the hostel :)
it adds so much charm to the overall experience. Highly recommended!
