We stayed for 1 night only. It was a short walk to our destination for the evening; Pantages Theater. Once you get past the sketchy block this hotel is on it begins to feel like touristy Hollywood. The walk back to the hotel at night is the opposite. The hotel itself was funky, but in a fun way! We were immediately greeted with tequila shots when arrived to the karaoke party just before 11:30PM. We’d stay here again!

10 minute walk to the train station.

The hotel is 25 miles from LAX. Yet, they require a passport and a plane ticket to stay here, because they're trying to appeal to travelers from abroad. I don't think the format makes much sense for the location. I have nothing against the business model, I just wasn't expecting to get such a stern "Don't let it happen again" from the receptionist. I still recommend this place, but they need to drop the plane traveler exclusivity, and be a normal hostel.

The only bad thing is some of the guests come here to get completely wasted on drugs and alcohol. Some guests are completely disrespectful of others mess up your room and are disengaged from reality. I think the vibe should keep a record of these people and not allow them back. Obnoxiously drunk people who are inconsiderate of others, make a lot of noise when others are sleeping, and those who are disrespectful should not be allowed to stay or be escorted off the premises.
