    I had a disappointing experience at check-in. I booked and paid for a room for my sister and myself from the USA, but when we arrived, my sister was asked to pay an extra 18% tax because she lives in Peru, which was surprising since we never experienced this at other hotels in Cusco. I also booked a river-view room, but we were told it was unavailable due to high demand, she said will let us know when one becomes available but never received an update. The front desk staff was not very friendly, and overall, we felt uncomfortable and somewhat discriminated against. Aside from this experience, everything else was good.

    A fine hotel. Very conveniently located for the trainstation and bus to Machu Picchu. Airconditioning unit could do with a service as not working properly. Can recommend.

    Staff was excellent but facilities not so much. View out the room window looked like like garbage. Bathroom door handle was falling off. Clean enough, but three stars at best.
