Situated in one of Hobart’s Georgian sandstone mansions, this hotel is undergoing a slow renovation of rooms. Those in the main building have been updated with double glazed windows etc. Those in the 1950s annex have not been touched since the hotel began in the early 2000s. The breakfast is ample but charging $5 for barista coffee leaves a bad impression. Likewise the main door which is keyed after 6pm has the feel of a cheap hostel. The library is nice to sit in but staff do not tidy it at all. The bookcase is a mess. Sorry to say this property has promise but needs a professional hotelier to whip it into shape.

Good for a solo traveller who don't mind full amenities in some modern hotels. It's a heritage building built in the 1800 so if you into these stuff you will like it.
