The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is its location. Yes, it’s quirky and the décor is quite nice, but unfortunately that’s where the positives end. We booked a snug room for two people, and unless you’re travelling with a small suitcase or a rucksack, there is simply no space to move once your luggage is inside. There’s little point focusing on décor when the room lacks basic comfort and practicality. The bathroom layout is also very poorly designed. Water from the bath runs out into the sink area and cannot be contained. In addition, the water was never properly hot — only warm — so showering was not particularly pleasant. The breakfast arrangement is, frankly, chaotic. In theory, the concept could have been good — reducing food waste by avoiding a buffet and cutting costs — but in practice it seems to be done at the expense of overworked and stressed staff. On our first morning, we waited around 40 minutes just to be seated. Our coffee arrived 15 minutes after we had already finished eating. The breakfast area itself is extremely small, which only adds to the problem. The staff appeared rude and unhelpful at times; however, they seemed extremely overworked, so I place the blame more on poor management than on them personally. To make matters worse, the hotel accepts external table bookings as well, meaning non-guests come in, see the overcrowded breakfast area, and often cancel and leave. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience at all. I would not recommend this hotel and would certainly not return.
