    The George is a fantastic hotel/pub Log burner in the bar area so cozy on a cold March night. The food is amazing 10/10 The owner is the chef and his food is excellent, My husband and I both had homemade pies with mash and veg with homemade gravy. I can’t wait to be in the area again just so we can have some of his culinary delights, The room was extremely clean and comfortable, we had a great nights sleep. Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely food,and good wine

    The George is an historic Inn so expect quirky features like uneven floors, modern fittings and up to date health and safety. Staff Always Excellent. A303 M5 Taunton and London M3 easy. Stourhead and Longleat just up the road , train at Gillingham, Dorset 5 miles away. Cheers

    The building is lovely, atmosphere was fantastic, staff were incredibly nice, the owner is a lovely chap and goes above and beyond! The room was really nice. Even the locals in the pub were nice!

    Arrived to find place closed,with carpark barricaded off .There was no warning in in Agoda emails that the place wasn't open for business There was a for lease sign on the property Peering through the windows there were ladders and paint tins on the bar.The phone number didn't answer There was no sign in the window explaining its unavailability We spoke to the shopkeeper opposite Other bookings had encountered the same problems over the past couple of daysWewere lucky to find any alternative lodgings as it was 5.00p.m. on a Saturday when we arrived in the middle of English peak summer holidays The proprietor should be banned from listing any properties,because their extreme inconsidration to travellers who had pre-paid and pre-cooked months in advance
