Enjoyed our stay here very much. Breakfast and dinner were good. Highly recommend friends to stay here and we will definitely stay with Forest Akan on our next visit

Very nice resort. Breakfast is exceptional and one of the best I have had! The lounge area is quite relaxing to read overlooking the lake. The onsen is small but they give other onsen option. Have basics like microwave in the room which is helpful. Would be great to have a gym. The Pan be bar next to it pretty chill as well and they can convert that into pizza and drink area in future. Overall will happily be back.

Loved the stay here. Breakfast spread is fantastic! Located next to trail by Lake Akan and the Lake Akan Pleasure cruise pier!

Beautiful lobby with welcoming staff. But their in-room toilet is very dated, and incredibly small. It smells terrible all the time even after cleaning. The shower head is a joke, it shares the same sink faucet where you turn the hot and cold faucets to get either scalding hot or icy cold tiny water streams. It’s almost like they only want you to use their public bath facilities. Female public bath has a good dressing room but the bath area is run down, grimey and has a leaky rusty roof. We ended up using the lobby toilets rather than the room toilet, what a major inconvenience. Rooms are cleaned on alternate days, for “sustainability” but you are compensated with a ¥1000 voucher to spend at their gift shop. Meals at the hotel are a buffet, and the dinner spread looks mostly unappetizing. Breakfast has slightly better food. Major plus point is their Simmons mattress which is just right with firmness and laundry facilities are great. Very near to Lake Akan sightseeing boat and Bokke trails.
