    Good-value stay in a convenient location with spacious room. Buffet dinner and breakfast was great. Onsen is a bit dated.

    I have paid extra for japanese room. However the hotel staff have put me into western room with twin beds in old building, the room area also smaller than the room that i booked. The male staff on duty is very good and kind, the onsen also good. The show and bingo games at the night gave us good memory. But the bad and defensive response from the lady staff at the counter really ruin our holiday mood. After checked with the hotel staff on duty, they checked and agreed to relocate me to new room. However, that is already very late, so i told the staff that we prefer to change on tomorrow morning. The staff on duty very kind and put a note on the new room keys for counter staff to take out. Nothing big but the lady who served at the counter in next morning refuse to let me change my room (she said room is not ready but she does not know another staff already showed me the room yesterday night) and the reason she gave is even funny (because you request for large bed, so we change your room. But the western twin beds room is not large bed, how can the hotel use this as reason to downgrade the room without getting consent from the guests.). She even asked me to call Agoda and said Agoda only pay them for this type of room. I paid RM2000 for the room and they get paid around RM16xx, so it is nothing to do with Agoda as Agoda definitely will collect commission for room rented via their website. I called Agoda but no one answered then i think back and feel why i need to call but not the hotel? After i insist i need the room now, she then pass the room key to me with sour face. Terrible, unhappy hotel experiense for me. Photo with twin beds is in old wing and photo with japanese set up is in new wing and bigger space.

    Our family took 2 rooms in the main block. The downstairs guest areas have been refreshed but once you go upstairs, the corridors smelt musty. The hotel was after all built in the 1950s and the exterior still shows its age. The toilet smelled because of the poor ventilation and age. It's traditional Japanese size, even though we got a modern room. So it's barely larger than an airplane toilet and old fashioned. The buffet looked impressive but the food quality was just average. Big range of dishes, including individual hot burners, which was nice. Probably the best part of the dinner buffet was the free flow alcohol if you're a drinker. The actual onsen area is quite small as can be seen in the photo. There are 3 onsens -- the photo shows the most scenic one. I didn't try any of the others so can't tell if they're bigger.
