    Very grand and imposing hotel, stayed in the stable block 1min walk from hotel. Nice room with AC which was great in this hot spell, nice breakfast but nothing more than I would expect from any decent hotel. Lovely grounds if a bit parched! Nice friendly staff and relaxed environment. Drinks expensive, like all hotels these days.

    Was a great place to take our little dog and celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Won’t be waiting 20 years to go back!

    The majority of staff were not overly helpful. On check In I had to ask where and what time breakfast was, despite the receptionist telling the 2 couples before us. We waited an hour for our bag to be brought over to us before calling reception to ask for our luggage. The room was very clean on arrrival and well stocked with water teas and coffee ect however our room was not cleaned during our night stay at all. Our towels were changed and bed made but no cleaning whatsoever was done. We had to ask for our bed sheets to be changed on the 2nd night. The first day breakfast on arrival we were asked for our room number, once checked the lady said your breakfast is paid help yourself over there - pointing to the buffet. No offer of explanation or seeing us to a table. The 2nd morning was much better, we were greeted by a man who was extremely friendly and helpful. He explained what type of breakfast they had and also showed us there egg station (I have to add the eggs had an absolutely disgusting taste to them on both days, we dosing try them on the 3rd) and also showed us to a table. 3rd day breakfast we went to the same restaurant as the previous 2 days only to be told that breakfast there is for a wedding function only and hotel guest breakfast is in the library. Once there we met the same gentleman who again was extremely friendly. Checkout is at 11 at 10.59 we had a knock on our room from House keeping wanting to clean the room. Which I get 11am is checkout but you expect a few minutes grace, The location is lovely and the hotel is nice enough but I would definitely not stay there again.
