    Undortunately we were visiting Reading for a funeral, however, we found a hidden jem in the Cantley House hotel. Stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel extremely relaxing in the midst of a stressful time. The room and every other aspect of the hotel were spotlessly clean. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Huge compliments to The Stables restaurant, set in a beautiful courtyard. Thankyou to Nuno and his team for looking after us so efficiently and professionally. We cannot be over generous in our praise of the food. Absolutely amazing culinary achievements. Congratulations to “Gigee”(?) and his team of chefs. We have travelled the world and eaten in nany restaurants and the food was right up there. 👏👏 We save our biggest praise for Abbey on reception. From the very moment when we arrived until the time of checking out, Abbey seemed to be on duty the whole time. No request was a problem, nothing was too difficult and all with an infectious smile. To the management, make sure Abbey is rewarded, she’s amazing . What a lovely girl. Thankyou for everything Abbey. If we are every in this area again we’ll definitely choose Cantley House.

    The hotel portion is exceptional. staff is helpful and friendly; accommodations are very nice. The restaurant needs help. the restaurant staff act as though they are in prison, not helpful and minimal effort.
