This review is only regarding the room not the staff. I have to start off by saying the many of the Burton is amazing and accommodating as well as the other staff downstairs.
This is a new hotel so I understand a lot has to still be updated in terms of check in process and I will give my constructive criticism. First and foremost we got to Ireland early so wanted to see if we could do an early check in. My sister contacted the owner and he got back to us a while later saying he can most likely make it happen around 12pm. We got to The Burton thinking that there maybe a front check in desk to store our luggage while we walk around. Well we get there and the restaurant under the hotel is closed no reception or anything. So we stood in the rain trying to get ahold of owner and he didn’t respond to us at all during that time but luckily there was a staff inside of the restaurant who let us in and store our bags. We were confused because while booking it does not mention there is no reception desk. No details are given which makes things confusing. Eventually the owner came and accommodated us around 12. We got to our room which was a decent size, clean and comfy. The only thing again that was not told to us was that there would be no cleaning of the rooms for the duration of our stay and also the rooms don’t have fridges so bringing back leftovers was never an option. The closet space was nice in the room. The noise disturbance was pretty bad due to our room being next to street and we could hear everything especially Sat night which made sleep for me very difficult. Overall I would say the location and staff of the restaurant 5/5 but the hotel itself needs some improvements which I hope they make. If you looking for a place to lay your head and nothing fancy this would be a good spot. Most places are 10-20 min walking distance. Also another plus is the AC unit which is rare in Europe.
