Staunton's on the Green

This was my second stay at Staunton’s and I was extremely disappointed this second go round. Sadly I must say that I would not stay at Stauntons on the Green again, especially in warm weather. The location near St Stephen’s Green is lovely, but that was not enough to make up for how uncomfortable and poorly supported my stay felt. My room had no air conditioning, and during warm weather it became extremely hot and stuffy. The fan provided was not enough. At one point, other guests were also asking for fans and were told none were available, which made it clear this was not just one room’s issue. For the price and location, I expected a much higher standard of guest comfort. Instead, I felt trapped in an overheated room, unable to properly rest, recover, or enjoy Dublin. These accommodations made my trip miserable. Basic guest needs did not seem well anticipated. No one responds to email, either. When a hotel knows it does not have air conditioning, it needs to be much more proactive about ventilation, fans, room placement, and warning guests in advance. The property has charm from the outside and the garden area is nice, but the actual stay was deeply disappointing. A beautiful building does not make up for a miserable night’s sleep. I left feeling exhausted, overheated, and frustrated that I had prepaid for a hotel that was not equipped to keep guests comfortable. The amenities were lacking as well. No extra needed toiletries were available when requested from the front desk. I ended up having supplies ordered from a local pharmacy delivered because I was so ill from my poor nights sleep I couldn’t walk to the shop myself three blocks away. I would only recommend this hotel in cool weather, and even then with caution. For summer or warm conditions, I would strongly suggest booking somewhere else.

Love this hotel ,especially the garden rooms, close to fabulous restaurants, saint Stephens green park is just accross the road.Staff are very curtious and helpful, we always stay here when we are in Dublin. Highly recommend

Really enjoyed this lovely Boutique Hotel

I called in.to Stauntons to book in last Wednesday evening. I had booked it for an overnight stay through *** as I had a flight the next morning which I couldnt make on time from home. It cost me approximately ***. When I tried to book in, I was told that I had been booked in for Tuesday evening. I explained that I had booked it very late on the Tuesday evening and thought it was for Wednesday. I pleaded for at least a discount as it was a misunderstanding, but to no avail. I was charged *** for my stay on Wednesday, and told that breakfast would cost more. I understand that it was my mistake, but the total lack of empathy was shocking. I would never stay there again. Shame on you Stauntons.
