I recommend this annex hotel. It has good air conditioning for the summer. It is clean. I did not have big luggage but the elevator might be challenging if you have one. You need to go up couple of stairs to use the elevator. Convenient location. Price and quality is good.

The hotel is near the train station, you can go all the spots by train and there are lots of restaurants nearby, and walking to Vatican takes about 15 mins. But the facilities are quite ‘old’ like the room key is a key but not a electronic key card and the shower, only the shower-head ( no hand shower).

I do not recommend this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we encountered multiple serious issues that made our stay uncomfortable and disappointing. On the first day, we found ants in the bathroom. While unpleasant, we initially brushed it off. Unfortunately, things escalated quickly. Later that same day, I sat on the bed and the bed base completely collapsed, causing me to fall through it. This was not only shocking but unsafe. The bed was clearly cheap and poorly maintained. When we reported this to reception, there was no apology, no concern for my wellbeing, and no attempt to ask if I was okay. The next day, after returning from a tour, we discovered ants all over the bed and on my clothes. We did not have any open food, nor were we eating in the room. When I informed the receptionist, instead of apologizing or addressing the infestation professionally, he accused us of eating in the room, which was untrue and extremely disrespectful. We requested to be moved to another room suitable for three people, which we eventually were. However, the new room did not have a safe, even though we had paid specifically for a room that included one. One receptionist told us there was no safe available, while another later confirmed that one could be provided — highlighting clear inconsistency and lack of organization. Throughout all of this, the receptionist showed no empathy, no accountability, and no customer service skills whatsoever. He appeared uninterested, dismissive, and miserable, making an already stressful situation worse. Between the ants, the unsafe bed collapse, poor hygiene, lack of honesty, and unacceptable staff attitude, this stay fell far below any reasonable standard. This hotel needs serious improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and staff training.
