Very nice hostel for your money, the location is awesome, within walking distance from the train station and to the Luxor temple and also to the Nile River, plenty of restaurants and shops, beautiful places to walk by the river, I definitely recommend it

not really bad but i only did not like for the shared toilet, it is not clean sometimes, no bidet, hard to clean after pooping..but the place is good and the free breakfast is nice and the cook seems nice too and approachable.

The city is where everyone seems to be trying to make a buck from you and at that time you would hope that the hostel you are living at is safe and not shady. Though marketed as sweet hostel, the official name of the place is new everest Hotel inside a narrow dim street. The owners will insist you have some free tea and use that time to sell you their tours. Their happy attitude seems to change when you tell them you already have a pre booked tour from agoda itself. Maybe because it was September, I felt like one of the few people living there. The owner told me not to believe anyone who tells me that they are cheaters! (Now that's even more suspicious!)..The hostel is really old and the rooms are basic at most. They don't have a Kitchen accessible to you and for everything you need (like hot water), the Male help will ask you for tips. I must say that the bathroom was really clean but that seems to be the only highlight of my stay there. I would not recommend unless you can't find anything reasonable in that amount. I did not feel safe here so I would not recommend it.
